Looking to swap to Ohlins front forks?

Between this and the RSV4 vs 199 thread, I've concluded that this forum is overrun with people who would rather spend money on their bikes to enjoy looking at and be seen with, rather than learn how to ride them fast.

Anyone who is serious about sport riding knows that professional riding schools and track time will make them so much more confident first, faster second, than ANY mod they can buy for whatever model they are riding.

Like oalvarez already said, I guess there's not anything wrong with that and I'm guilty to a certain degree. But I wish they would just own up to it instead of justifying how much "faster" they would go because of some mod they want to buy to have the latest, greatest.

why should on exclude the other... i ve learned that knowing you have good stuff just let's you focus on what's at hand. in this case : riding. and it has Always given me peace of mind that i know the stuff is top notch.

Something that also has to be taken into consideration is that 80% of accessible know how on suspension is Ohlins related. so if you want to get near the people that really know their craft and can really help you advance , then that is where they are. And let's not kid ourselves, the top guys won't be serving you as wholehearteldy if your bike is not carrying stuff they know .. and how many Marzocchi specialsits are there around? I can't think of any in a 500 mile radius.. as all real alternatives to Ohlins are not Marzoccchi. Bitubo, Mupo, ... and those are even more far and away...
I decided to do this once as it should be done. With the right gear (no doubts lingering) , top setup, good coaching and plenty of riding... And i'm sure a kid on 600 will loose me in a sec... :) .. but at least i'll know i'm riding it to the best of my abilities.. how limited they sure are...
