I can't find the source of the loud clicks, It might be from drivetrain somewhere.
I hear them in garage while moving around the bike.Anyone have an idea?
thanks

How many miles do you have on the bike? Sounds like chain/sprocket is worn...

My bike is doing the same thing...just noticed it. 16k. Stick your finger under the top chain section near the swing arm pivot and lift slightly while turning the rear wheel. It will go away.

The bike rides fine but I would love to know what the sound is. Chain too tight? I will try your suggestion

First you guys want dry clutch rattles, now you don't want funky twin rattles????

Big cam superquadro's do rattle the chain something fierce. Ever tried cleaning the chain with the bike in gear and the rear wheel spinning? Looks like the chain and wheel are having a seizure.

A thin shell engine is going to make some noise, but if it sounds as bad as a perfectly good Honda CRF450r, then I'd be worried. I'd have to hear it.

What are you talking about? He's saying that chain is clicking when pushing the bike with the engine off!

As the guys without the running engine comments stated.
1. Combination of a worn front sprocket and a tight chain.
2. Broken tooth on the front sprocket.

The only thing that comes into my mind is a streched chain.

And this is completely dependent on the drivers way of handling the bike. Give me a new 1199/1299 and tell me what's your intention, whether you want the chain gets worn within 2000km or 16000km. Easy to achieve both goals.

During the last 2 decades I moved from "power wheelies" and crazy "flag drop starts" to smooth driving. Also engines power delivery became more smooth, anti hopping clutches became standard and cush drives really work. Also chain lube products are really great now.

New DID 520 chains are insanely robust, not even talking about 525s. I tortured my SL for almost 5000km without even once adjusting the chain (FAST but SMOOTH street riding).

Another thing I can think of is the spring loaded flaps on top of the radiator shroud . These sometimes can get caught on the bottom triple clamps and make a loud clicking sound only more so when steering .
It's a long shot but a suggestion none the less .
Brake pads can also cause such a noise as well as a loose head stem .
