Loudifying stock exhausts

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I just wanted to resurrect this one..............has anyone finished their coring of the exhaust and can share any post-change experiences and even better sound clips? I had something similar done on my old 749s and it sounded awesome.

My experimental set will be mounted this weekend. I will post the results here.or in a new thread.

Cheers

Yes, unhook the silver ball.

cans back from welder "well-dr" not pretty, and he lost a piece of metal.

screw it. the next ones will be with thinner cuts and only one window around the cats:

will take a week (heat shield holding tab on pipe broke off...)

Phil - Just wondered if you had made any progress with getting these on the bike and more importantly to see how they sound :)

I am currently building the bike back from track to road, will install the welded mufflers this week. tried to capture the noise with a dB meter app in the garage, didn't work, it just topped out...

wanted to have a real comparison (well, not I, but I guess you guys) so I might have to make a drive by test first (before/after) with the rain the past few days - impossible...

hold on tight, it will come!~

got them installed today. reading any levels of noise on the phone didn't work out, it always topped out. will report on the impressions after my morning commute. we only have a 20% chance of rain predicted..... yeeha.

here some pics -->

here all 3:

here is my mechanic girl helping me:

She looks more like a guard than a mechanic...

What about the dyno runs you mentioned doing as well?

weight so far: - ~600 gr (~1.5 lbs) - measured on my kitchen scale (over the limit)

dyno runs, well yes, i have to find the time. i figured to just put them on right now to see what they sound like.

to be honest, from the mods so far, no big difference. it sounds a little deeper, more mature. but i wouldn't say much louder. my next step on the zombie exhauset might be a more "invasive" cut... lemme see if the dremel cutting wheel fits into the outlet pipe...

we're getting a dB meter here at work soon, (for MY TESTING ON A PROJECT) i will try to take the exact levels then.

but in between there is a business trip to mexico and 2.5 weeks in europe. and the wife wants to go to charleston for a weekend. when am i supposed to get the important stuff done?

;)

Phil
