This has been one of the most fun long weekends in a long time. 135 miles on the Panigale Thursday, 320 on the Ninja 1000 Yesterday, 250 on the Panigale today - just got back. And tomorrow morning I hope to put another 150 or maybe a little more. I actually am hoping to put all 600 miles for my first service on the bike this weekend!

Ran my favorite twisty roads today. I have gotten pretty comfortable with the handling, and the chicken strips are down to maybe 1/2 inch (might get the rest of them tomorrow!). This bike is just stupid fun. I am seriously glad I bought it.

Congrats! Ronnie and the boys are the best...I got mine from him last year...it's not too hard to put 250 miles on it either is it? Surprisingly comfortable..
Btw..I test rode a ninja 1000 for the heck of it..not bad either.

Admit it. You put miles on the Ninja out of guilt and couldn't wait to get back on the Pani. It happened to me

I got to know Ronnie very well about 30 years - we were both racing, although I was nowhere near as good as he was (nor were very many others). He's still a good friend. I have been surprised at the "comfort" (seems like an old concept). My neck is the only real issue, and I can deal with it.

I still love the Ninja 1000 and think that it may be the best true street/sport bike on the market. The "crotch rockets" are only for people very young and stupid....or very old and stupid. I fall into the later. Like everyone here, I have a pretty insatiable need for speed and decided that if I did buy something like this now I'd be missing out on something. I'm very lucky to be able to afford three bikes that all fill a need for my riding habits.

But you are right about one thing, I could not wait to get back on the Pani. I was like a junkie today. I rode the same route I always ride early Sunday morning. But it's usually a 140 mile ride. Today I rode the good stuff three times - going back and forth on them. Houston is not a great place for sport riding and it's typically a 50 mile ride just to get to some sort of curves.
