Hi, guys.
I need to know how to loosen and remove the special bolts used to secure the key cylinder.
I want you to teach me so that even a monkey can understand.

Will the double nut approach work to get a socket on it? Without it being in front of me I don’t know how tall that post is.

From the king of detailed threads, that’s some funny .... there. In all seriousness, if there’s anyone who would be qualified to speak on removing ignition components, is you Don. Carry on.

Touché

40 years ago no one had to remove the ignition though... you just reached up under the dash and cut all the wires : )

Vise grips man. No tweezers

.... that dumpster pile still not running yet? Wtf 8 months of talk whats the hold up Don? Steal few more bikes that will speed things up.

Good post Don. Great content as always. You got that pile of .... running yet? Let me know if I need to send the girls over to get things moving

I can’t believe that one in the vid unscrewed when dude tried to loosen the top nut

Mine laughed at dub nut

Vise grips or weld a nut on it

Hi, Thanks for all the helpful input and, conversely, the ...... advice. I used a hard lock nut and was able to loosen it without damaging the threads.

Don we understand the frustration when you have unlimited resources, all the tools and can't get the bike built or running we total get it. But geesh man all this destruction lately on motor and chassis parts has gotten pretty out of hand.

LOL well we haven’t had to use it for a long time until Don showed up. Now along with other mothballed verbiage, it’s part of the daily vocabulary.

Ha, good strategy, keeping things consistent, neither you’re girl nor your bike make any sound. The world is too noisy anyhow especially with that damn Newport Blvd making all that racket.
