Melandri ?

Yeah his .... has been wobbling all season. Thought they have that figured out long time ago crazy.

My therory is he is running the rear tire very low in pressure to get grip , because of his weight. Pirelli being soft carcass he is getting a lot of rim movement in the tire ?

I had the joy of riding n:eek: 33 bike at WSBK Experience at Mugello. It seems to like to do a bit of wobble. Having that bike wobbling under you while hitting sixth gear pinned down that straight is something that is not lightly forgotten

That bike is VERY quick on steering (easily running off the track towards the inner curb) and we ran full rain tyres, so I guess these were the reasons. Noob rider hanging on for his dear life had no influnce :)

BTW This is my first post here. It’s been a joy to read these discussions so I thought to give some contribution...

I think it is related to suspension settings , spring and valving etc.
Regardless if it is tire or suspension IMO he has chosen to live with this wobble to get more out of a corner somewhere else on the track.
In other words he is chasing faster lap times and It looks like the wobble happens when he is transitioning between the gas and brakes which tends to make me think suspension choices and geometry

I posted this because it is what i'm experiencing on some tracks. Fast corner exits with lots of drive. When it starts you have to roll off the gas (unlike Melandri). I havent had the chance to try increased tire pressure , but have tried many different suspension settings and geometry changes, as I thought that was from where the problem was being generated. I'm convinced its tire pressure related, I have studied Melandri's bike and it even looks as though his pressure is down ?? I have purchased a set of Dunlops to see if the stiffer side wall helps . It will be my first experience on a tire other than Pirelli.

The Dunlop tire will have a more pointy profile, that’s going to make the steering quicker. That is a slight steering input will have a faster response to lean over. The ECU is calibrated for the Michelin so watch out, as your TC will be affected.
