I have a stock mirror that's loose around pivot point. The two bolts inside windscreen tightens the base but not the area that has the removable plastic tab. Any suggestions other than replace them for now? Besides I hate the bar end mirror look and I wanna keep my turn signals. Rizzoma has a set for $400 yes I know but trying to do what I can for now since I have bought a ton of upgrades past 3 mos and some of them not even in yet.

I had the same problem with my mirror, it is a known issue, and was replaced under warranty.

If your bike isn't under warranty then you'll need to replace them with either OEM or aftermarket mirrors.

But...for a temporary fix you can fold back the mirror, and wedge something where the mirror pivots (rubber, folded piece of paper, glue, etc). This just fills the gap and stops the mirror shaking around. I did it with mine while waiting for my new mirror to arrive.

My left mirror has the same issue. I pulled it off the bike and used a press to tighten the pivot point, but within a few weeks it loosened up again.

The problem is that the pivot isn't a bolt like on most Japanese bikes. It's essentially a big rivet so there are manufacturing tolerances that make some of them loose and naturally over time it will loosen.

It's not a tolerance issue. It's a material fatigue issue. The crimp in the spring grommet rolls open and the spring preload goes bye bye. I've been through two mirrors under warranty. The latest assembly looks a bit different than the original. I have a threaded sleeve and nut design I will make when the next one goes. If anyone's interested, let me know. It's no wonder Ducati went to a fixed design on the 1299.

I'm interested to see your idea, my left one just started to go too.
