Modification Prioritization?

Curious to hear how others order their mods? After having picked up a 1299 S, it comes as little surprise that I want to get nearly every after-market thing there is. But obviously one has to be somewhat fiscally responsible in life. So in what order does everyone treat their bike? Curious to hear from people. Whether your goals are performance or cosmetic, I'd appreciate hearing what order you did (or will do) your upgrades.

So far I've done:

1. Tail tidy/rear turn signals (done by dealer before pickup)
2. Tinted windscreen (zero gravity)
3. Tank grips (stompgrip)
4. Clear clutch cover/pressure plate/spring retainer (ducabike)
5. bar ends (ducati) installing this weekend
6. Gas cap (rizoma) installing this weekend
7. Upper/lower radiator guards (Evotech) on order
8. Black windscreen nuts (from china) on order
9+: debating between front/rear sprockets, race seat, rear sets, brake/clutch levers, slip on (or full exhaust)/tune...

This will obviously vary from person to person. I've had my 1299 S 3 weeks And here is all that's been done in that time.

Charcoal canister removed
CRG shorty levers
Cylinder head covers removed
DP seat
Tail Tidy
Carbon fiber pieces
Ducabike Clear clutch cover
DP clutch cover plate
R&G frame sliders
Bar end mirrors
Ducati Corse sticker kit
CNC caps
NRC Turn signals
TechSpec tank pads
 
This is what I prioritize.

1. Set up suspension for my weight with full gear

2. I think I'm pretty much done after number one. Lol

It will greatly depend on the person but it looks like you have a nicely personalized 1299. And it really depends on if you want a personal Ducati or do you want more power. Have fun!

I had that thought at one point. But the truth is I don't know that I could handle or would even appreciate more power. I'm taking it to the track for the first time in two weeks, we'll see how I feel after that. But for now it feels PLENTY powerful and I'm just enjoying making it unique. Picked up the race seat yesterday, super excited to put it on today.
 
I did full termi, performance first on my S


Then dp tail tidy, and a few small carbon bits

Bike does everything I need it to do
 
1: Stomp grips. DP windscreen. Go.

When you're used to the bike and know more about your riding style, strengths and deficits: Get the bike set up to a base setting to suit you.
 
I have been lucky enough to have a1299 since last year now,
I have modded it a little more that I first intended, but we always get a little carried away with these things…
Full Akrapovic system
MRA screen
Ducati performance sport pack-
heel plates
Tank cap
Key cover
Tank pad
Number plate holder
Bar ends
Sprocket cover
Shock cover
Plus brake lever protector
TWM levers
TWM remote adjuster
DP race seat
DP rearsets
GB racing Engine protectors
DP radiator protector
DP Axle slider
Ducati DDA
Swinger cover
Chain guard
Shark fin
Rear seat cover
Change of rear spring
Evo Update

But I think all you need to get going are-
Bigger screen
Engine protectors (GB racing)
Radiator guard
And suspension spring etc
The rest is all a matter of taste ;)

First thing I did was get a suspension guy to help me set the sag with me on the bike. Then I put on the DP tail tidy. That was over 5 years ago. Lot done since then.
 
Fitting my tail tidy made me at least 0.5 seconds per lap around Snetterton. Can't wait until I get some decals put on.......

Are u happy with your Evo update?Is it worth the money?
 
I'll find out in 2 weeks when I get the panigale back and settled in at assen for a 2 day trackday
 
LEARN HOW TO RIDE IT.

you don't need to add or remove a single thing. (Ok except maybe the mirrors and lights). No exhaust, or grips, or rearsets, or carbon fiber will make you ride this bike better nor faster.

Spend the money on a msf course, THEN on a track course. leftover funds out into dialing in your suspension.

I agree with this 100%, but that's really not the question I was asking with this thread. I'm just curious how people personalize their bikes.

Having said that, I have done an MSF course and California Superbike School (6 times). I will be focusing on tailoring the suspension next though.
 
My mods were done in bunches.

Group 1- Rearsets, levers, radiator guards, tidy tail and Puig windscreen

Group 2- DP Carbon hugger, and ignition guard

Group 3- Carbon frame covers, OEM carbon shark fin and heat shield

I only focused on fitting the bike to be and aesthetics because the bike has more than enough power.
 
if tracking is prio 1:

1. crash protection
2. suspension
3. ergonomics (grips, race seat, tank grips)
4. throttle spacers
5. slicks
6. cored exhaust (akra level)

if starbucks is prio 1:
1. sticker kit
2. led lights
3. tire lettering pen
4. ducati corse attire
5. belt sander (chicken strip removal)
6. cored exhaust (sound from hell level)

if mountain / canyon riding :
see track list, but switch slicks for Rapid Bike.
