Help Support Ducati Forum:

Since the KBB value is at 19k, but the estimated cost for repair is around 10K, I'm willing to accept 9k for the entire bike. If you would like the aftermarket mods I have and the rear tire stand, I humbly ask for 9.5k and the tile is yours
I will take the whole bike for 9k
don't need the stand

Do you still have the rear exhaust header? Mine cracked today and I was 80 miles away from home. Talk about a horrible ride home.

Never mind Cobraking, I realized your message was for the OP.

“Boring” HP4?? Uh what?

Lol, I flip bikes pretty often. I've had two BMWs S1Krrs (one of them the HP4) and three Panigalies...? Panigal'i...? 1199s-1299s-1299SA.

While I had some GREAT times with the HP4 for the 3 years I ran her... still found that bike to feel a bit "tame" compared to the Ducati's I've had. To be fair though, it's really only noticeable at height RPMs with the throttle rung out, which is never as often as I would like, of course.

Hey guys, thanks for all the support and interest you all have shown in regards to this bike.

After a few weeks of potential part out offers and a couple whole bike offers (until those potential buyers cross referenced with their mechanics!) I've decided to work with my insurance provider to either have this bike fixed up, or totaled, so I can use those funds toward my replacement bike if determined a loss by insurance.

Stay safe out there and continue to enjoy your two wheeled toys!

Maybe put that in your title next time " Need help making a decision"
At the time this thread was created, the decision to part out was already made.

After some feedback from some of the more helpful members of this community over the past few weeks, this situation has changed based on practicality and reality.

If this has proven to be inconvenient for you personally, no offense was intended.

If you would like to discuss the matter further or face to face, PM me and we can make the arrangements.

There is no matter to discuss, you offered the bike for 9k someone offered to buy it. You offered parts, people offered to buy them, at no point in the thread did you say hey help me make a decision here. Good luck with the rebuild

Thank you for the well wishes.

I tried to work with the whole bike potentials, but they ultimately chose against it based on the mechanical status of the bike.

I'm no mechanic, so I admittedly bit off more than I can chew when planning to take apart a bike with limited resources in an underground apt building garage in BK.

I'm very appreciative of the support and help I've gotten from everyone who I've been in contact with on this forum, PMs, phone calls and texts.

Would it make sense to just delete or ask mods to delete the thread at this point...?

All good no need to delete it- we all make decisions then do the opposite when new information come to hand.

I guess it depends on your environment or upbringing.

I detected some hostility in the original statement from an individual that (from my perspective) had nothing valuable to contribute to the rest of a conversation thread where this person had no other interaction previously.

I'm conditioned to meet noticed hostility with equal or greater force. So as far as I'm concerned, my reaction to detected hostility is pretty consistent. Not "odd", at all.

Your obnoxious attitude would certainly have been handled in an appropriate “manner” where I grew up. Hope you get your situation figured out. ✌

Thanks for the well wishes. Honestly appreciate the help I've gotten here. If you have chosen or choose to read how I communicated throughout most of this thread, or any thread I communicated through the 3 automotive forums I visit from time to time, you would notice I am humble in most interactions, or simply not participate in a topic or subject that I have no constructive or productive comments to contribute.

I am however willing to visit any neighborhood where someone may choose to "handle" me.

My profession has taken me many places across the globe and I can absolutely assure you that I've faced and survived places worse that any place in the uS has to offer.

As I see this has become more of a topic of .... measuring and not of a mechanically deadlined motorcycle, I'll take the thread down tomorrow when I get to a computer. Those who chose to continue this otherwise useless banter, I will again ask you PM me so we cankae arrangements to meet somehow as I much prefer these kind of interaction in person.

Those of you who had more positive feedback fore as I have and continue to deal with a very frustrating situation with what I wanted to be my dream bike, please forgive the negative turn this discussion took.

You offered a bike to the forum with no serious intention of following through. You could have asked for advice and been straight up, but you chose otherwise. The board is full of timewasters in the classifieds and you dear reader are part of that problem, what a joke being threatened with your manly man words. Any hostility you may detect is a projection of your own making inside your own head, in the words of Deputy U.S. Marshall Gerard , I don't care.

good luck with the bike.;
