Hmm .. It appears that not all titanium is of the same quality and that the UK firm "Pro-Bolt" appears to not only be the most expensive, it appears to be the best on the market.

So, I am leaning towards natural titanium pro-bolts for the 1199. I am making extensive progress on modding my 1098 with Gold Titanium pro-bolts.

I have spent a fortune with Pro Bolt for my R1.No issues with their titanium. I will use Proti for my 1199 however as they appear to be even a better quality.

Got these today which are obviously cheap but what the hell, theyre tiny bolts.

Thanks 1stduc, I will look into Proti for the 1199 after I finish my 1098.

I know the expression "you get what you pay for", but just because you pay more, doesn't mean you get more. These are just Ti bolts, and other than having metallurgist do a complete analyzation on them, I don't know how you can be sure one is better than the other. I have been putting Ti on bikes (bicycles) since the 70's, even turned my own axle. The calipers bolts are just M10 x 60mm bolts, I paid $30 for the 4, the rears were $9 for the 2. The rotor bolts were only $42 for the front 10.

As much as I love the Gold Titanium on my 1098 S Tricolore, I really *personally* don't see Gold Titanium bolts all over a 1199 working well. I reckon natural or gun metal Titanium would work well. The *only* exception is around the disks & brakes.

One thing you should know ... and you going to thank me for this. If you use any form of anodized bolts, be really careful putting them on as it is really easy to mark/damage them.

I agree on the gold. Can't figure out why, though. On previous Ducatis gold fit the aesthetic, but for some reason I can't quite put my thumb on I also think gold would be a bit too much on the Panigale.

It'd be nice if these Ti bolts were pre-drilled for safety wire. Ti is a terrible conductor, making it a slow and painful process to drill even small holes in (factor in the cost of breaking cobalt bits when purchasing Ti bolts for a track machine!). I've also never drilled into a Torx head--I imagine that only makes the process worse.

Pro Bolt does make a Race spec in natural titanium with holes for safety wire

Question: I am just wondering who would be interested in a Pro-Bolt kit for the 1199 and if so what is you preference Aluminum, Steel or Titanium ?

Observation: It would appear that a fair few of the engine bolts on the 1199 are non standard, some have internal threads, lock dimples, etc. Throw in the dynamics related to the new engine heat shield (if your even going to adopt one) and it makes the justification for a Pro-bolt engine kit for 1199 a bit of a challenge to justify.

I gather it would make more sense for Pro-Bolt to supply what they have and focus on areas such as the brakes, discs, forks, axles, etc.

My 2 cents is that Pro-Bolt should instead focus on the 2013 HyperMotard and offer a smaller kit for the 1199.

I have spoken with Pro-Bolt about these points.

Mmhhh, kits for the Hyper SP, interesting.

Like the new avatar Cali :)

Due to significant engine exposure and that the bolts are more exposed to corrosion ;) I think natural titanium (non-race spec) Pro-Bolts for the 2013 HyerMotard would work well.

I thought you would approve of the new avatar
