MUGELLLOOOOOOOOOO! FP1 coming up.
I can't say I grew up a Miller fan, that said, he's growing on me.
Pecco - just wow. That guy has got some rocking to do. 20th to 4th in the rain last race in France? beGeeezes.
The weather is nuts this year. Predictions here change every 10 mins. It's been dumping & storming since March, but it's finally warming up.
Rain doesn't look like it'll bother either Ducati pilots though.
Who says Ducati 1 & 2 this weekend?

Not really. Extremely limited visitors. I've been once to the Mugello MotoGP race in 2016. It was not like anything I've ever experienced. The people are nuts. Just plain nuts. They live for this.
"Nessun Dorma a Mugello" (No one sleeps at Mugello) is the saying written on a lot of camps where they party like vikings all night for 3 days in a row. People bring home-made engines with open exhausts - sometimes they add huge horns to the exhaust pipes just to make noise. They're basically trying to raise the freaking dead with how much noise they can make. The track is in a national park - people can camp really close to the track with no big visual hindrance from the grass, so viewing from almost everywhere is pretty amazing.
It seems like the 1970's. After the race, they all rush onto the track and dance and party. It's unreal.

@Vbreeze are they allowing any in-person attendance yet?

Zarco, Bagnaia, and Miller came on strong at the end.

I was rooting for Esparago/Aprilia to be on the front row.

VR is competing for 15th, MM is looking for a top 10. FQ could do it, I think he is the real deal and maturing well. MV top 10, EA top 6, JM, FB,JZ top 4.... But anything could happen!!

Anyone have insight on the incident between Bastianini and Zarco?

What do you mean? Are you asking if Zarco was penalized?

The commentators speculated that Zarco was warming his tires by braking hard in the wrong (dangerous) spot. Bastianini wasn’t expecting Zarco to be there and ran into the back of him.

I mean they always brake on the approach to the grid to keep heat in the brakes and front tire. Seems like Bastianini was distracted. If he was paying attention, maybe he could have evaded to either side. The fact that he braked hard enough to throw himself over the bars suggests to me that he looked up at the last second, saw Zarco, and panicked.

I agree with you. The commentators made it sound like Zarco braked in a blind spot but maybe I misunderstood them.... Like you, I generally believe that it’s the person’s fault who runs into the back of the other rider.

Exactly. I could see if it were elsewhere on the track. But approaching the grid at the end of the warmup lap, you should be expecting the riders in front of you to be braking intermittently.
