What else can really be said about MM? Undoubtedly the most talented rider on the field. Even with a terrible start as far back as 10th, fighting through the field and taking the lead after a costly Rossi error. IMO he would have eventually overtaken Rossi regardless of the error but still very impressive.

To all the Rossi haters, the guy is holding his own. Great start to a race and was leading it for a few laps. Obviously he's not going to win the title but he is kickin his teammate's ass which brings up the question...WTF is wrong with JL? Both him and Pedrosa allow 2 non-factory riders to finish ahead of them? This was definitely a weird race.

Anyway, back to MM. He does ride what many would argue to be the best bike in the class but even still, 5 of 5 races to start the season is just unreal. The guy is in his second year riding like he's been in the class forever. What I wish I could see is him riding the Ducati bike for a season and see if he could do the unimaginable and win with that bike. He's a tiny little guy and the Ducati has a .... ton of power in the straights. Maybe he could whip up some magic and put the Ducati on the podium at the very least. I'm sure his talent would overcome the struggles with the Ducati. That's never going to happen but still a thought.

I almost feel like Marquez is doing to Lorenzo what Rossi did to Gibernau several years ago. His struggles seem more mental than physical.

Before we go saying MM is the best ever, let's see how long he wins. Let's see how many championships. In today's view, one championship or two and you are the best ever( See MM, Lebron....). Let's see him do what Rossi did. From 1997-2014, Rossi has won 9 titles. I like MM, but too often we say these young dudes are the best ever and they fade quickly, like JL.

Ducati doesn't need Marquez. Ducati needs decent engineering.

Dovizioso is clearly close to the podium skill-wise. It's obvious that he's good enough to be up front and today we got another case of the bike holding him back. Riding the Ducati is a handicap right now and he managed to overcome it for three laps.

Crutchlow on the other hand appears to have checked out already. That guy is paid way too much to be throwing his hands up after five races and saying "Well, middle of the pack is how we roll."

In the interview: Rossi said he hoped that MM would wait
For him to battle around... LOL as if... He was 0.5 s / faster!

Getting boring now.. Races need to be 10 laps...Gives everyone else a chance ...

IMO, there's nothing wrong with Lorenzo... he's pretty much the same rider as he was last year. The difference is this year the '14 tire compound don't grip as well and the bikes are loose on the track. Lorenzo hates the bike moving around as he came from 125s and mastered an in-line riding style. I think this year Lorenzo is simply struggling with setup. Last year the M1's setup prevented Rossi from braking to maximum potential, but Yamaha improved that over the off-season. Now the same people who claimed Rossi was a washed-up racer are now seeing he is still a top rider. Small things can make a huge difference in a rider's ability to get podiums.

As for MM, I think he's good for the sport. These teams and riders are the best in the world, they need to figure out how to close the gap to MM.

Seriously doubt we'll see Crutchlow on a Duc next year... unless it's the Panigale in WSBK.

MM did today what Rossi did for years. He never was that great a qualifier, or simply just like to mix it up in the pack for fun. He would regularly qualify on the 2nd row or worse, get a bad start and come back from double-digit places on the first lap to win by a mile. MM is simply the "Rossi" of today, he's got a clear advantage over the field. If anything, MM doesn't seem to like to do that in races and wants to clear off as soon as possible and build an unassailable gap. If he were a real racing god, he would do the "Rossi" style like today for a few races in a row, just to further demoralize the field.

The only reason Dovi qualified so well was that he used a softer tire that he has available as an option, like the Open machines. The Desmosedici is much faster over one lap, but isn't competitive with Yamaha and Honda over race distance. Dovi said as much in the first race and they didn't expect much changes until later in the season so I don't know why we even waste breath talking about them since nothing is going to change until some major new development arrives.

Again, this is a 2 team race with 3 riders strung out at the top a good way off the clear leader. I have no idea why this is so popular when WSBK is so much more entertaining in racing terms and our bikes are doing much better there this year - and the ones closest to our bikes (FIM STK 1000) are OWNING the class.

Because we cannot watch ...at least I can't...The Superstock races... :(

The full videos of every race and other "Videopass exclusive" stuff is well worth the 95 Euros. Seriously, and I am a cheap ........

Anyone care to make a single thread/post that lists all of the places where various races (MotoGP, WSBK, etc) can be viewed? If online, perhaps a deep link, if on broadcast we can chime in with our country/channel?

In lieu of a new thread, simply go to SBK and buy the video pass. Well worth it and as you're a pending SL owner, I think you can afford it :D I misspoke earlier, it's only 69 Euros.

Not to take away from the brilliance of MM, but the best race of the day was definitely the Motogp3.

The young Aussie Jack Miller road probably the best 2 final laps I have ever seen. He even copped the clip in the back from Vazquez. He could have taken it easy and looked for a podium, but he ignored that and absolutely went for it.

Just watch the last lap

Checked it out, awesome race. Way more exciting than the Motogp race. Now if they could just give them 220 or so hp it would be perfect.

MM reminds me of Rossi when he was his age... he was able to start a race on the brack of the grid and would fight up to first place.

JL and Pedrosa are nowhere near MM.

lets stop calling mm the new rossi right now. also MM qualifies pretty well. he is the first marquez. his style is unique. he was going to pass rossi anyway but rossi made the mistake cause he knew marquez was coming. period. hes doing well for himself on the yamaha.

interesting you should say JLO doesnt like the bike. in this edition of sport rider they interviewed the head of yamaha racing (forgot name) and he said to make up for lack of straight speed they decreased front end feel. JLO hates that and the tires in and you have jlo problem. now throw in mental .

danny was riding with staples in his arm i think he did pretty well for having staples in his arm.

lastly and i cant believe i am going to say this but its great seeing rossi on the podium w/MM because nobody drums up the crowd like rossi. when he went into first place (rossi) you heard the crowd. MM needs to learn how to do that. he had rossi doing his little dance, then rossi and bautista tried to blind MM with champain training to hurt him so he cant win next race.

Casey stop fishing its damn boring in case you havnt noticed there is a new kid on the block.

MM didnt start on the back he started in pole (again) he was trailing JLO both made a mistake and MM went really wide ended up in 10th. he didnt do it on purpose nor did he joke its part of racing.

Rossi went wide because of MM end of race with 14 laps left

he would have won starting from pit lane.

i am courious to see how Mugello will turn out ...

i mean, yes, MM with reservation on the top of the box, but what will rossi do in front of the home crowd?

also, will ducati pull out an extra strong mapping for the home crowd, setting new speed records and pushing the motivated Dovi?

can't wait to see it!!!
