I just want to give a shout out to Mototote. I picked up one of their MTXS hitch mount carriers a few weeks back, and I used it this weekend to bring my bike back from the dealer (purchased bike out of state). I had a Versahaul hitch carrier in the past, but I like the Mototote way more. The Mototote is lighter, much more compact, and most importantly its very stable.

I was able to make a mount for it to hang it on the wall.

that's pretty cool. how is loading and unloading?

newish trucks are so high off the ground for aesthetics that its kinda silly.

Not bad, but you’re right about the hitch height. I used my son’s Tahoe and the hitch is high. To make loading and unloading easier it’s best to find an area where the grade helps compensate for the height difference. Then it’s super easy, and it can be done single handedly. The nice thing about the Mototote is it comes with a built in wheel chock. The Versahual doesn’t, so it was always a 2 person job.
