Multiple Bike Storage?

So my garage is getting pretty full and just wondering what others are doing when it comes to storing multiple bikes? I've seen 4 post car lifts that allow you to lift one car and park another underneath....is there any similar solution for bikes?

I already have one bike in my dining room and its a pain to get in and out of the house so I'd like something that would work for the garage. I cannot build a larger or additional garage on my property due to HOA rules.

Let's see what you have come up with!!

I had 12' high ceilings when I lived in NJ, 10' high when I moved to Orlando.

In my NJ house I had a 3 car garage with 3 individual doors.

I put a 4 post, Bendpak, lift in the center bay. I added 8 sheets of 4'x8' plywood to make the lift storage surface 8'x 16x1.5".

I could raise my lift to 6.5' and park the majority of my bikes on it and still park my Suburban underneath.

I also build a 4'x 23' platform on the rear wall of the garage, about 6'6" high and used the lift as an elevator to store bikes high up on the wall.

When I moved to Orlando, The 10' ceilings did not allow me to do this, but I still used the lift for storage of other things, allowing for more floor space for the bikes.

If you can't do some stuff in your garage, is it possible to put a shed in your backyard?

While my Son was in college, he rented a house without a garage. So we bought a shed kit 10'x 16', he build in in about 3 days and stored his 1098, KTM 250XCW and Honda XR650L in it.

Failing that, I would rent a storage unit and remove the batteries from the stored bikes.

Share outside storage space at a storage facility. You'll have 24-hr. Gate access and your bike (s) are in a locked and secure space. Very common in Florida.

ChrisE that's a great setup you used to have! Thanks for the pics! Sadly I cannot build any type of shed due to HOA rules...

Speedhaus there is no chance I would store any of my bikes at an outside storage facility. Maybe inside but never outside. You know what the theft rate for bikes is in this state?

A neighbor keeps some toys at an airplane hangar not too far away but I really prefer to keep my stuff at my house where possible.

I think he means an enclosed unit that has outside, drive up, access. It's as secure and weather tight as a regular garage.

I've stored my bikes in self storage units, many times, as I've moved house.

Father in law has a re worked car lift that holds a few bikes. Nice set up. I just removed it from a home he sold, and reinstalled at the new house. It's Mega heavy!

This is when I was installing the bases. Have to be VERY CAREFUL with these new Post tension slabs. Hired a company to come out and mark where the cables are. Don't want to drill into a tension cable.

They're fine...... just throw a blue tarp over them in a RV storage facility. LOL :p
