Help Support Ducati Forum:

after getting the SL do you even ride it anymore? If not, you already know what confusia says lol

Good question, actually I do ride it quite a bit. I cannot take the SL everywhere.... Attracts way to much attention to be left on it's own.

So, that's when I would take my HP4. In addition, I like to change up my bikes alot. I may ride all morning on my SL, then ride my HP4 or Duke all afternoon.

My riding season is a bit short in the midwest, so I try and ride as much as I can.....

Only 250 are being made for the world, with only ten of those coming to the U.S this year and another 750 next year.

Weighs just 385lbs, has 210 HP and comes with street and race (full ti) exhaust and ECUs. Exhaust is by Termi.

All carbon fiber body work, magnesium engine covers, Abs, wheelie control, traction control up/down shift...etc.

I believe it also similar brembo's to the SL. Not sure on the wheels thou.

Price $46K

Ok, I spent a good hour with my dealer today. They don't have a bunch of info to share other than what I provided above.

This bike is designed to take on the 2015 1199 R, not a SL competitor. Which is probably what is driving the price and key part listings.

Although, I do think it fits in-between those two bikes.

Motor is re-worked and the bike has a new ECU to take into consideration the additional electronics.

It will have Ohlins Black forks, but not sure if they are the same as the SL and same goes for the wheels.

$5K deposit to order one & they may bring more into the US than 10, but they will not build more than 250.

Bikes may or may not be numbered and the number on the bottom of the bike "potentially" maybe customized. Potentially.

At this point, I need way more info on the bike prior to deciding. MV's are heavy and wide & we don't have much more info than what I listed above.

But if thing weighs close to 385 "weight", I will be hard pressed to pass this up. 385 is close to the weight of an F3.... I just hope it's a little skinner....

MV is planning to do a big press release soon on this & that should be very telling.

In addition, they are really trying to take advantage of their AMG support, so there should be more good things coming.

I will share more info, as I receive it, but I thank you all for your support/info. I was very helpful.

This is quite a great forum we have here.....

Interesting and IMO, they will send way more than 10 to the US, as its their largest market!

I'd be surprised if you didn't see 30 heading you're way :)

Maybe not necessarily the sort of model that needs people pushing to the front of a queue for. For example, how long has the F3 Oro been out and still some of those looking for a home if you search.

Boost I just got back from my dealer and was going to post that also. Also the forks are not the FL916's. The bike is not even as good as the PaniR for 2015. Plus its like 12k more. Another note. Dealers are not ordering the Pani R's as they still have surplus 14'R's. So they may make less of them than the SL which is the current word.

I have an F4 1078 RR for 6 years now and indeed I had a few problems with it. In a nutshell I would say this:

1. Fueling Is not an issue. You can fit a Microtec ecu (I did) or a Rapidbike and get the bike sorted. There are firms (XBikes -UK) which can provide you maps to smooth out the power delivery etc. Perhaps no such data for a new model yet.
2. Spare parts are not hard to find. I recently had an issue with the clutch and I found everything I needed through a firm in Belgium. I do not have a dealer here just a good Kawasaki mechanic and a LOT of help from the aforementioned forum.
3. You must be patient with these bikes. Yes they could present a problem any time and it seems MV has not sorted out the bikes yet. I am sure you read some scary stories in the forum. Reliability is still an issue. Even though people report 60000miles without any issue so its a hit or miss kind of thing.
4. Mercedes should be able to turn things around and I believe this will benefit MV Agusta. And so will the participation in races. However in 2-3 years not now.

In short: You will fall in love with it being a pretty bike but if you do not want to loose time fixing something that may happen do not buy.

When had mine back in the UK, I was also doing some service work for other
MV F4 owners, I was buying all my parts through a German dealer as they always
had what I needed on the shelf, unlike the UK dealers & importer.

PP1098: I couldn't say it better.
German and international forums on the net are a really great resource.
If you like mechanics, it's a great bike to work on it!! (I mean this in a very positive way and not sarcastic).

On the picture you see my F4 I'm currently working on :)
Everything available on the market that's lighter goes into this babe... :D

WOW... I wish I had time to do things like this! I am very jealous, but I am about to leave again this week for business travel....

Nicely done!

Thank you, b9009b, appreciate the input and the fact you spoke with your dealer, as well.

I do not disagree with you at all. I think the 2015 R, is probably a better buy, as other than the carbon fiber body work and potentially the wheels, it's as good or better than this bike.

If I didn't already have the SL, I would definitely get the R, but I want something new different.

I am addicted to light bikes now & this is nothing like I have other than the HP4.... That's where I am torn...

Do I give up the HP4 for this bad boy... We will see what other info we get.

I do wonder if its better than your HP4. I will pass along anymore info I get from my dealer in here for you. Regardless its going to be a sweet bike.
