it was about time...

cleaning kit works well, and since i was prepping the bike anyway for the track, quickly flipped the tank off, took the filter out (2 minutes) cleaned it with the detergent in 6 liters of hot water and let it dry, after blowing the filter with air from the back.

oiled it and re inserted it. (1 min).

looking forward to seeing a difference tomorrow at road atlanta!

Phil, yes we are. did you get the bump to Expert or are you riding in novice still? I'm going to race in CCS in Dec 6/7 to get one under my belt, then get ready for Wera 2015. I guess the first race will be at Roabling Road.

haven't received a letter yet. everybody said there is no way i'd stay in NV. if i decide to end up racing the pani, i'll try to protest and learn the bike again...

good for you to put in a race already this year!

i think the first on the calendar is tally at the end of feb. then RRR mid march...

That depends on what region you are running. Tally for southeast and RR for North Florida. It's almost the same schedule except you guys get VIR and one other track. If you go to VIR, I'm coming too.

2 minutes to "pop the tank" off?

sure, breakdown: (i work with a power drill)

4 mm allen for seat , same bit for 2 screws on rear tank bridge, switch allen to open 2 front screws, then 8mm socket for the 2 nuts on rear bridge.
clip 2 zip ties on vent hoses and pull off.
lift rear and unclip fuel line, pump connector and ground wire, lift tank :D ok, 2:15 :D

2 minutes were for filter removal though.

It seems that you're the man!
Don't you remove the side fairings? I ask because the venting hoses to the tank easiely slip apart from it...

Thanks for this thread! I cleaned my MWR three weeks ago an I was really suprised how dirty it was: Looks like we're constantly riding thru a terribly dirty world :)
BTW the MWR cleaning detergent is really great!!!
