Ordered s ABS with carbon hugger, comfort pilot seat and rear seat soft bag. I also bought a,gopro hero 2 cam to record the first outing.
I took it out on my K1300s today and I have to say the pics are excellent

leebeeone, I like your taste in bikes...it looks like we are going to have the same stable (even down to the Go Pro)

today I got my bike

So finally I picked up my bike at 4pm today and immediately rode it for 100km it would have been more but it started raining 
First impressions
Well for me this is: the first Ducati, the first 2 cylinder bike, the first out and out sports bike
The dealer recommended for the first 100 KM not to exceed 4K RPM and then gradually increase by 500 revs per 100 km until reaching the 6K RPM limit that is the recommended by Ducati.
On starting the bike WOW what a sound I was not prepared for that, I think it will give some Harleys a run for the money FAN BLOODY TASTIC, and no smoke although the dealer said there could be some when starting cold during the run in period because of special oil being used during this period, I would of question this but I wanted to get my hands on the bike so I did not pursue it
When I got on to the bike at low revs it felt as if I was sitting on a machine gun (I am used to the smooth 4 cylinders), obviously the seating is completely different from my K1300s and it felt as if my head was over the front wheel, I am 6ft 3" there is no way I am going to be able to duck under that double bubble screen (option) I am also waiting for a comfort pilot seat! Having rode for about an hour however I did not find it too uncomfortable.
Moving out (sports mode) from the garage and making sure I kept it below the 4K my immediate concern was the fly by wire throttle it is not as responsive as my K and it is obvious that this bike needs revs, at tick over and up to 3 k it does not feel as if it is happy, nor the rider :) so running in is going to be frustrating
I hit traffic just coming out from the garage and the next thing to hit me was the heat coming out under the seat, it was 16 deg. ambient temperature here in Geneva and I believe this bike or should I say the rider will be getting very hot and frustrated in town traffic.
But getting on to the autoroute and being able to use the allowed revs (4k) it becomes smooth and a joy, the lightness of the bike is something else it felt like my old Honda hornet.
Off the motor way I found some twisty roads, it is so fickable it is going to be so much fun to ride once I have worn in the new tires.
100Km done only 900 left to unleash the beast
I hope to post some vids over the weakened but now I am going to have to wash it 

FrostyFire its not fitted yet hopefully on the first service

4K RPM? Is your dealer new to Ducati's. All the dukes I've driven barely work below 4K unless they are really well tuned and even then they kinda suck. I'm all for taking it easy for the first little bit but Bro you're way to conforming to the rules.

I'd be at 10,000 RPM 5 miles from the dealership. I'm not joking either:cool:

at 30,000 chf I'd rather take my time it will not take me long to complete the run in period
