flynbulldog I only mean it only feels like the hornet regrding the weight otherwise it is completely different

Regarding breakin I think I will stick to the 6K and forget about the 4K instruction

Wouldn't be surprised if mine see 8 or 9.

Rhino, thanks for sharing this!

Heat coming from a sportbike thats funneled to your nuts, welcome to one of the many joys of sportbikes, every single bike Ive owned from my 96 GSXR750 to my current 09 CBR1000RR seems to be on a mission to cook the "boys". Get used to doing the chicken leg on longer rides for a little ram air cooling for your crotch ;)

I'm happy for ya and seriously jealous that I'm still waiting on mine...my dealer said I should have one of the first to arrive if not the first since the only one confirmed so far for my dealer is the S without ABS and i seem to be the only nut that doesnt want ABS!

Also listen to the forum here about lugging that poor engine because, the electronics could potentially track whether or not you adhered to the Ducati break in period, but its highly unlikely. On top of that if you did somehow manage to break something just by running the engine within its "built to specs" as in up to redline right out of the gate, and all fluids etc. are in order, Ducati will have to repair or replace the bike (well at least in America with our nice lemon laws). If they didnt want the bike run to redline for the first 600miles they would have electronically limited it, just saying.

We're a little behind here in Australia.. First Panigale S (2) just here and being used to train techos in Sydney.. First deliveries will be S (starting end of April, some 'plain' Panigales during May and first Tricolore's in June - they are being produced last.. I have first Tricolore to be delivered in Melbourne - still a couple of months.. :( First demo bikes sometime between September and December!

That's not what my dealer in Adelaide has told me...I have a Tricolore on order and have consistently been told it's due for late April/early may delivery. I will be one of the first in Adelaide to get a Tricolore.

It's highly likely that they are tracking RPM thresholds within the break-in period (5 lines of code, maybe) and lemon laws in the US vary from state to state. In most states, for motorcycles, the lemon laws are extremely vague and trying to get a dealer to return a bike could easily result in legal fees that are far more costly than buying a new engine (or bike).

I know of two people localy who've gotten new bikes from Ducati because of defects and neither had to hire a lawyer or take them to court.
