I wasn't bike shopping but Old Ugly followed me home after I tossed out a smartass offer. She's going to be my touring bike while my R has become a pure trackbike.

I've only done 145 miles so far and my one complaint is that the brake pedal is really low and there's no height adjustment.

That exact same old ugly 2017 color scheme and all followed me home last year.

Actually even though ducati is my favorite the s1000rr is a do all machine and the one I ride the most. Careful not to use you heated hangrips too much...it drained my battery.

Here is mine....I swapped out the front fender color and gas tank fairing for red and black.

Great minds think alike lol
That combo looks great on your bike. I was thinking of black for the tank cover. I love my R for the track. Perfect bike for me. But I was wanting something more street friendly for longer street rides. Maybe some overnight runs. I took one out for half a day last year and found it perfectly boring. Qualities of a streetbike lol.

Ya it's so good it's kind of boring. Kind of a weird thing lol.

Mark I say she's boring because she does everything so well. The fueling is the smoothest I've felt on an injected bike.

i ment by boring and this is from others on this forum not me has no character. i know your a big track guy and its very easy to ride at the track compared to the ducati. i didnt actully mean it was boring or suggested you ment anything bad.

i think you will love the bike.

funny story like you my friend went and looked at an R1 and he threw out a stupid low number and they took it. he felt so bad he didnt really want the bike but he you know what the guy called me on it and i had to take it.

these 2 stories is why i stay out of the dealerships or at least say only looking

When I was looking at a new bike with my friend, the local BMW store only had a HP4 in the store. it was old model and they had dropped the price alot as they wanted it gone. I made a silly offer and salesman had a laught and we went on our way.
I got my ducati and about 2 weeks after the BMW dealer rang me saying he would give it to me at that price. I msg my mate about it and he ended up going in that afternoon and getting the HP4 a little cheaper than my offer.

the HP4 was a nice bike. There are times I regret not buying it.

Lol, a friend said I don't have to buy it. I told him joking or not I tossed out the offer. When it was accepted I had no choice but to buy it. When everything else is gone, I will always have my word. It didn't help that I've know those guys since 2004 and he enjoyed getting the last laugh. :p

It really is a great bike. I just picked up a new 2017 in black and grey and so far I really love it. Ergos are great and the engine is smooth and powerful. I was considering the V4S but I decided to give Ducati another year or two to work out the kinks on the new model. Also I got a great deal on the S1000RR which made the decision even easier :) Enjoy your bike!

Luimoto has a nice seat cover that would look great on this color scheme

Love it Twisted!! And I actually love the look of these bikes as well.

So far I've resisted trying one since from everything I've heard and read I'd probably come home with one and I need a new bike like a hole in the head.

Would love to hear more impressions compared to your other bikes once you have more seat time.

Enjoy it!!

I may not have the current stable some of you guys do, but I've had a lot of bikes over the years. If I could pick one bike out of them I had to live with and one bike only I think the smart decision would be the beamer. My heart may say otherwise. But, honestly, it's the smoothest engine, lots of power, lots of goodies at a great price, reliable, Great gas mileage, great handling. Best out of the box sportbike you can get imo. Handles traffic as well as high speeds. Just not much to complain about except a lack of character....or do we equate flaws as character?

Still want to try this new v4 out...

Still like my Italians:)

Kevin my friend Bridgette is after me to come down to the bay to hit the track and ride out to Alice's. I told her not till our race season is over. You'll have to give her a try. The engine is like an electric motor with perfect fueling. I'd worry about adding a pipe as it might hurt the way she fuels. I keep telling my friends that it's my touring bike because of the cruise control and heated grips lol.
Unfortunately this purchase screwed up my plans of stealing that 888 from you next year.

I'm down to just these two bikes. My friends have a habit of talking me out of my projects lol
I agree, we can say the beemer lacks character because it's so refined. Also I never felt any heat from her when I rode her on a hot day last year. It was also nice wearing my thin track gloves on a 47 degree morning and my fingers not getting cold.
But....if I had to have one bike, I'd leave the streets behind and just ride my Pani on the track.
