I expected Davies but not Giugliano. I dont remember hearing his name in any of the past rumors. Needed an Italian for the team? Hopefully it goes well for Ducati next year with all they learned this year.

After Spies decided to retire, I guess that's when contracts solidified with these guys. Chaz Davies is an excellent rider and Giugliano really proved himself this season on a customer Aprilia. The big question is if Ducati can make enough changes, or persuade Dorna to loosen up restrictions on them enough to be competitive. I think the handling is there, as they did have some good qualifying results here and there. But did you here the commentary by Johnny Rea during the last race? He said that his CBR1000RR is not nearly the fastest bike compared to the BMWs and RSV4s, but he said he could easily pass the Panigale whenever he needed to.

I would have like to have seen Canepa been promoted to SBK, but these guys will do. I fear it won't be until 2015 when the Evo rules go into effect that they have a chance to fight for the podium. Even then, the rules may continue to be against them.

Hmm.... It didn't look like the Honda were all that impressive power wise at the Magny-Cours round 1 when Pirro easily beat both Honda's. That was also his first race ever in WSBK and on top of that he was on the Panigale. Pretty impressive ride by Pirro if you ask me.

Yeah I thought Canepa would have been good.
