Hi guys!
I join your forum because I recently ordered a 1299 R Final Edition here in France.
I'm 54, riding bikes since I'm 15.
I'm riding Ducati for more than 20 years now, since I bought a 916 in 1997. I also had later a 998S (see Ducati 998S (Pierre COL)) and a Desmosedici RR (see La Ducati Desmosedici RR 282/1500 de Pierre Col )
Unfortunately those 2 wonderful bikes were stolen simultaneously in June 2011. That sad event paused my Ducati Superbike passion for a while, but I'm back: I ordered a Panigale 1299 R Final Edition that I expect to receive by the end of this year.
I had the strange idea of riding my Desmosedici RR a lot, with more than 20,000 km in 3 years, including a 5000 km "TouRR de France" in 2 weeks in Autumn 2008 (you can see a lot of pics on TouRR de France) and I imagine to do the same with the Panigale Final Edition.
I experienced a few problems with my Desmosedici RR: this bike was really wonderful, engine and chassis, but not reliable enough and the lack of spare parts from the factory was really painful for me as for other Desmosedici RR owners... I expect a better experience with my Panigale Final Edition, but I'm interested in ant return on experience about 1299 R reliability.
Thank you!
