New owner, sore bum!

My suspension has been set up by Ohlins, I guess the settings are too hard. I'm surprised that the difference between comfort seat and race seat is only the covering. I have a big trip planned this weekend, fingers crossed my butt can be trained

Wrapped my stock seat in black suede which adds about 1/32" of material. Its good now.

Went through the Ducati basic training course, my bum is both heat prove and shock prove.

Took 1199 base out on test ride some years back, it was like concrete! Bought an 1199 base had the suspension set up and it was a very comfortable ride

Soft ends up hurting just as much if not more in the long run. Only way to get used to it is to ride. Your butt will adapt. Trust me on this one. ;)

The DP race seat is much firmer. I switched out my stock seat on the 1299 because I wanted the grippy seat material and the added leg room.

After the first 5 hour ride my bum was so sore I had trouble sitting down. I'm hoping I'll get used to the ... beating because the added leg room and grip is worth it.

Welcome to the home team! I have the stock seat and my GAWD! That's a whole new level of having a sore ...! I'm planning on actually buying the sport seat, since it's the preferred seat, for most people, who have used all three.

I have the comfort seat to try this weekend on a ~400 mile trip. I used the race seat for around 300 miles last weekend so it will be good to do an almost back to back comparison.

I'll report back! :D

7 hour ride today, and I have to say there's a distinct difference between the comfort and race seat. They are the same profile, but the foam is much softer. So much so I find it easier to reach the floor with my short legs. 'Comfort' seat is most definitely a misleading title, but to say the only difference between race and comfort seat is the fabric covering is 100% incorrect.

"¦Prison bum

Yeah it comes from 3 day lock in's where you just sit on concrete 24/7 or maybe not:D

Hi Tyrant..... Glad it worked for you, I think my bum is permanently calloused from riding Ducati's for so long.
You have to love Ducati for the use of the word comfort:D
