i also know someone on this forum no matter what i say, show, or how many pictures i post will say it doesnt fit. thats what this forum has become so if you want to think it doesnt fit be my guest. to cobra and trans (who saw some guy not have a clue) if its done correctly it works fine.

Your photo's must be photoshopped cause I know they don't fit. ;)

I'd be interested to know how it goes - is that the exact same shape as the updated (non-termi) heat shield?

trans and cobra in my quote i was answering your questions not calling you out or saying you didnt believe me, you asked the question. i was only saying other people will say i am wrong so if they think i am wrong fine but here is the answer that you 2 were looking for. didnt want you 2 guys (who have helped me out with issues) think i was attacking you. i wasnt. i was trying to help answer you. i was attacking the 1000 other haters on here.

Ordered this: EXHAUST PROTECTOR OEM

Hope it can stand the heat unlike the RC carbon parts on ebay.

that is the old style heat shield. mike the reason the carbon doesnt last isnt because of the heat from the pipe its from the screws. with the old heat shield the screws are metal and you most likely with the rc one used the same screws. well the oem heat shield non carbon doesnt have the special washers that block the heat from the screws. the termi heat shield (old version) has six heat resistant washers. one goes on the bottom of the heat shiled one on top (bottom of screw) the screw would get hot and burn the heat shield (carbon version) without the washers, with the washers there it protects the heated screw from burning the carbon. the problem is when you add these washers to the carbon shield the actual screws are too short. you have to buy the longer screws or the screws will come out and your heat shield will rest on your pipe and burn.
hope this is understandable as i have had this happen to me.

in short if you are buying aftermarket carbon heat shield you need
1 longer screws that come with the termi heat shield qty 3
2 heat resistant washers (can buy from ducati ) qty 6
NOTE this is for changing old heat shield for old heat shield carbon version NOT the new one.
the new heat shield comes with a complete screw and washer set.
