They are not getting creative... they are just showing that placing the exhausts under the belly on the bike, may be ok for mass centralization, but on the other side, it lacks off lenght in exhaust tubes. I miss the undertail exhausts... :)

Because the 1299 has a short power band and poor top end? :D

My wife (non prison) is from Slovenia and she is visiting Slovenia this summer, I will ask her to stop by the factory and perhaps offer Igor a family heirloom, my trombone (rusty), in exchange for selling me one...

I imagine a real good blow through maybe with a compressed airline for assisstance(?) and a rag dipped in Brasso with a firm grip would polish your trombone right up

Have the Kawi trap speeds on the straits been better all season? Jonny and Tom walked those Ducs this weekend on the front strait.. At least to me they looked a bit quicker w/out the draft.. I wonder if that spaghetti shooter hurt them on the top?

Yep, back to the noodle factory...

Why?

Most people already can't justify spending $5k+ on a DP Akra. This would cost as much or probably more than the full titanium wsbk termi system which is already like $10k or somethin stupid. There would be no market for this exhaust and the ones who absolutely "need" it will have no problem getting one for their race bikes. I don't see this ever hitting the public.

Why not?

Lots of dumb things that are not needed that people throw money at for no good reason other than they want it. It all depends on if you want it bad enough and your wallets fat enough to get it.

Not that I don't agree with you as I feel unless your one of the WSBK guys you'll never ride it hard enough to get any performance gain out of this to make you any quicker than the other exhaust options out there.

Not even the performance aspect of it.

Think about it....how many folks out there on this forum own or would be willing to spend the cost for the all titanium wsbk termi system? Let's also include the number of owners who are not on the forums. This in my opinion would cost more than $10k. I just don't see a big enough market for akra to have a reason to make this for the public. Slim chance.

I agree with you but in terms of Homologation they just may be available at some point. Again I will say, Its the ugliest piece of $hi! Ive ever seen tho.. Its like side pipes on a Ferrari...

Sorry, I wasn't speaking about why Akra would or wouldn't produce this for the public. I was just speaking on why people would buy it. I'm sure there would be a few cause they could... I don't see any financial reason why it would make sense for them to sell this to the public, especially since it's still being tested and could change many times. I'm sure the current Akra is at the top of the price point for most people wiling to buy aftermarket exhaust.

No I disagree entirely.

The Desmosedici had an exhaust available which did cost nearly 10k and was available to the public. I'm pretty sure this will become available.

This is the only thing I could find, it is a bike auction, but it does list the exhaust value, I'm sure as a selling point!

That exhaust was expensive but so was the bike and exclusive . The Panigale not so much .I understand for it to be possible to even fit this exhaust you will need a different sub frame and tank .

It's crap. It's on a superbike for one weekend, it'll be gone just a quickly as it came. Why would you want that on your streetbike? If you want a longer header, run a longer header. The length of the exhaust after the cans isn't going to do anything.

Why don't they try one larger can under the bike with one exit on either side? It's grasping at straws, a twin is a twin.

$6000 for an ugly exhaust that looks like an after thought? Hahaha. Godd luck with that.

yes, this was a proprietary test piece of equipment. it will never hit market.

If you look at WSBK engines, there's tons of lil pieces that are not available for sale anywhere...
looks to me that this exhaust requires more changes than just the exhaust...and it will have to proven to be beneficial first... I didn't see any changes in their performance (not that they didn't)

why not just eliminate the bottom cans, kinda looks sillt blocked off, but they aren't going for looks.

I'm all for it and prefer 4/3/2 into 1 exhausts.

Always said the one disappointing thing about the Panigale is you don't get to run one of those special Akrapovic GP inspired exhaust systems (the twin exhaust belly pan design is the nicest stock exhaust setup on the market but the GP inspired exhausts Akrapovic do every now and are just pure attitude and nothing else gives you that race bike feel, I have one hanging above me on the wall right now), so if the opportunity comes up to get one like this then I'm all over it, I've always wanted one, nothing sounds better than the special GP inspired exhausts Akrapovic do but they've never made them for the bikes I've owned.
Something different, something special and extra length for the exhaust tubing is never a bad thing.

Absolutly horrible looking.. The Pani is a work of art the symmetry is gorgeous. Those exhausts look like the exhausts on the hot saws in the Lumberjack competitions.. While I'm 100% for the addition of lighter, well built, performance enhancing parts; that exhaust takes away from the beauty of the bike.. They can have their extra HP... BTW, the Taylormade exhausts look the best on the CBRs.. MHO.... But WTF do I know.. Each to their own..
