No more speed channel???

How'd I miss this? My cable company told me Fox/speed is now Fox Sports 1 with all kinds of sports coverage, Speed is gone. Unfortunately my provider doesn't carry speed 2

It's Fox Sports 1 now and MotoGP is on at 9:00 AM MDT (channel 219 on DirectTV)
 
Speed sucked bad but at least the damn races were aired ya know? Now CBS picked up coverage of it but even that is frigging a stupid pay channel just like the BEin sport channel. We went from lousy coverage and toolbag Greg White to zilch! Catch -22 !
 
Did anybody watch the Speed TV coverage of Laguna Seca? Listening to the two commentators was painful and I'm fairly certain the cameramen were drunk. Lots of footage of racers ..... and people picking their noses in the garage. I desperately want to believe it will be better on Fox today but fear the worst.

Why didn't NBC pick it up?? Their coverage of Formula One is actually pretty good... and they have BPL as well now..

well Rupert Murdoch tends to do that to enterprises he puts his hands on. Speed to sport1 will probably be no diff.

fox/speed has the contract for motogp coverage in the us.

When I think of the original speed channel all those years ago when it first started up. Anyone remember Two wheel tuesday?? Those were the days.

Either way we, the motorcycle roadracing community is screwed! Whether it be NBC, CBS Fox or Speed they all suck and dont care much for covering the entire race as much as possible. Never seen an interview worth a .... after a win any either of them.

And I just tuned in to Speed / Fox now and who's big bald head to I see as soon as I turn it on? GREG WHITE and his dumb ... coverage! Thank goodness Scott Russell is there to pick up the slack and make a difference. One good dude!

So what are the predictions today for the main event? :rolleyes:

come on guys read before you post. all it is is a name change. im watching it now 219 on direct tv. motogp is the same coverage who cares what its called. they also added randy momola

No, they're not. They come back from commercial and what do you see? Talking head shots of Varsha and Mamola...while the race is going on! For two minutes I'm sitting there screaming at the TV "Show the fkng race!!" while Varsha and Mamola talk about what's going on in the race while the camera keeps on them.

Fox. Pure amatuer ......y. Didn't take 'em long to confirm it.
 
If you have the motogp pass and you didnt watch qualifying please do. Its not even fair these guys have to race against MM.
rossi will finish no better than 6. JLO (green mamba) said its a honda track and doesnt expect much. that means the beloved 46 will just give up.
 
that's not correct Mark, Speed2 is now fox sports2, but my provider only gets the original speed1 now fox sports1 and they don't have anything remotely approaching motorsports coverage that speed had, just look at the schedule.

All day yesterday was football.

But it does look like motogp coverage is on now.

fox coverage was worse than speed if you can believe that. as much as i like Russell i cant listen to him call the race because his partner is an ...... i switched to Motogp live stream. i guess im just use to those guys.

i like russell on ama not motogp.

my call on the announcers:
moto gp british guys.
russel ama.
speed old motogp when its in america.
speed new motogp
and the worst WSBK they are terrible
