What's the normal turnaround time for an engine rebuild?
Dealer friend of mine get's 2 per week on average, all send to him directly through Ducati North America, all full rebuilds under warranty for various reasons
Update: The service manager said they found damage to the cylinders, pistons, and bearings. They are waiting to hear back from Ducati.
Ducati decided to replace the engine. The new engine should be at the dealer next week.
... Might want to ask the dealer to make sure there is an oil filter in the new engine though...
I picked up my bike on Saturday and gave it a test ride today. Everything works as it should. I had the 41 tooth sprocket installed and it pulls harder as expected.
For all of my troubles, the dealership installed the 41 tooth sprocket/chain kit and the CF clutch cover for free. Also the 600 mile service for this new engine will be free.
