Active Military And Veterans Invited To Celebrate July 4th With Free Admission To "White House Down"

Regal Entertainment Group, AMC Theatres, Cinemark Theatres, Carmike Cinemas, and Other Exhibitors To Participate in Special Tribute to Troops

On Independence Day, to thank America's troops for their sacrifice and service, active military personnel and veterans will be admitted with one guest to see Columbia Pictures' White House Down for free at any Regal Entertainment Group, AMC Theatres, Cinemark Theatres, Carmike Cinemas, or other participating exhibitor by showing proper military identification. The special invitation to America's military personnel and veterans is valid only on the 4th of July and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis at each participating location.

Commenting on the announcement, Rory Bruer, president of Worldwide Distribution for Sony Pictures, said, "We think White House Down is the summer's best action movie, so on July 4th, we're inviting all active duty and veteran military personnel to bring a guest and see it for free. It's a great way to celebrate the holiday and to honor and thank the troops for their service to our country."

In White House Down, Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little .... with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation's government falling into chaos and time running out, it's up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country. The film is directed by Roland Emmerich, written by James Vanderbilt, and produced by Bradley J. Fischer, Harald Kloser, James Vanderbilt, Larry Franco, and Laeta Kalogridis.

Spam! Ban this guy! :D

Did anyone see Olympus Has Fallen that came out 3 months ago? Exactly the same plot...

I watched the trailer for this one tonight and thought the EXACT SAME THING Frosty! lol

I actually liked Olympus Has Fallen since they used some real life aspects to it, unlike this where Chad Fanning is yelling and calling the Pres (Jamie Foxx-cmon) dude and all. Hey if its free I will take it! :D

yeah, I thought I was going crazy and forgot the name of the movie when I watched it on an international flight, then realised it was another offshoot of the same / similar plot.

Wait a sec
SALT
OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN
WHITE HOUSE DOWN

Any others that can be added to the list? :p

Salt and Olympus Has Fallen are very different...

I don't watch movies and I was in the wrong military....

happy 4th my American friends!

olympus has fallen was idiotic, no character dev = certifiable POS. white house down = further proof viewership is brain dead and can't distinguish quality for Fast Furious.

makes sense though in terms of member posts according with filmic taste, more at lack thereof.

The 2013 remake of Evil Dead was good!

Some good news right?!

it was bad, but in a good kinda sorta way; but not as good as the original, which really made the full circle with, for its time, incredible camera moves that reinforced the irreverent horror...

edit: and with years of illegal wars on foreign lands under the bogus guise of "terrorism", perhaps it'd be best for the military to be exposed to some intelligent fare? i know, it won't happen as an offer. but luckily, there are enlightened folks in the forces that know what's really going on and would probably gravitate to something a little smarter entertainment-wise....

Wow. Good thing I didn't go stand in a line just to flash my retired ID card for a waste of time and $19 popcorn!

Thanks!

It's a great way to celebrate the holiday and to honor and thank the troops for invading foreign nations in unconstitutional acts in order to profiteer and impose the will of the USSA's military-industial complex across the globe. We at Sony hope that it inspires all active duty and vets to more violence and blind patriotism."

It takes a second to google a stupid gif to fool around, it has nothing to do with my taste in movies. They are mutually exclusive... can we move along?
