Hi all
My name is Pil
I have just bought my first Ducati (1199) and I'm blown away....I have many questions which I will ask over time.
Firstly..is there anyone in Southern Sydney (Cronulla) that would like to help me with setting it up to weekend ride..... It is way too stiff on the settings me.

I am 81kgs so should I just go back to factory settings...? Suspension is manually done...?
Also my ass is getting hot from the exhaust.....It's a full Termi system (bike is 2012)

Check the link is set on P and not F.

Is it an S with electronic suspension? If so go back to the default settings and start there.

You should have the preload in the rear shock adjusted, as mine was too stiff.

I soften the damping using the electronic maps and estimating where I needed to be! it now works excellent in wet! sport and race modes.

Cheers

In order of priority.

First.
You need to start working on getting your Static sag/Rider sag set up for your weight. That may well entail changing front and rear springs depending on your weight.

Second.
Then you can seriously start working on your Compression/Rebound settings.

For road riding you may well find more comfort in the rear linkage set to "P", and ride height re-set to standard height.
Or for more performance you may like to keep it set at "F". But expect a harsher ride in the back end.

Thanks guys
it's a base model so I will start with checking the "P / F" setting then preload.
Is plus or minus softening the rear / front shocks.
Now the ABS and traction settings......I'm only going to ride on the road and won't thrash it so thinking abs front and back....?
One more thing....when I jump on the rear brake hard in 4th, it geared down to 2nd automatically.....is that right...?
Where are the cheapest after market parts bought...?

Thanks.....Terry did my Husaberg, I didn't think of him.(long way to go)
I told some guys during the Sunday ride about the brake/down shift thing and they laughed and said I probably leaned on the lever at the same time but it happened again yesterday while I was experimenting....WTF

Should I get a radiator guard..? Top and bottom or just bottom..?
