OEM Quick Shifter coverted to GP

After a bit of head scratching I was able to convert the OEM standard shift quick shifter to GP shift. A little back story....As a former CCS racer, I have always had my race and street bikes set up for GP shift. It just feels rite, and works for me. I also like the positioning of the stock Panigle rear sets. The foot pegs are another story. Well I was researching and found Ducati and other sources wanted over $300 for the GP shift quick shifter. Since I like the stock rear set positioning, I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on rear sets I don't need when I can dump that money into the suspension. So I took apart the stock quick shifter and found a way with a little machining to make it work as a push instead of a pull. There is enough room to flip the shift arm (external) on the shift shaft, and with the quick shifter set as a push rather than pull, I now have my GP shift with stock parts and it all looks stock.
I was wondering if there is any interest in this I can provide the conversion service. So just throwing a feeler out there. I would need a core to do the conversion on. I was looking at asking $100.00 for the conversion.
What do you guys think?

I thought about attempting this but did have the necessary tools. You are right though, it's a very simply mechanism that wouldnt need much tweaking (in the right hands). I just ordered the DP reverse shifter instead. But it was much more than 100 dollars so this could be a great alternative to those looking for an affordable option.

Rather than changing the shift rod I was looking into machining a new shift peg to change the rotation when shifting but still couldnt do that with the tools I had. Hope you get a good response with your offer!

Getdowngetfunky, I was looking at doing the same thing, and came up with a cantilever part, but due to the space limitations on the Panigale it would have ment drilling holes in the stock rear set's, and no one wants to do that. This ended up being the best way to go, and it can be reversed back to stock. The mill work is done under the switch cover.

i had mine apart also, was thinking about doing the same thing but ended up with Gilles Rearsets for increased grip and adjustability... also, they are GP-shift...

So, quick update here. It was a pleasure dealing with duckracer. I bet on a quick shifter on ebay and sent it to him to get converted. Probably within the week he had it done and sent back to me. Got it installed this weekend, and it works like a charm! It was super easy to install and now if I ever decide to switch it back (don't know why I would) I'll just plug the stock one back in.

I had to play and adjust the length of it to assure proper shifts, but that just helped me adjust to the GP pattern when I tested it out.

This is a great alternative to all the other kits out there. with ebay bid on a new shifter, mail, and duckracer's work it cost me ~$170. I personally like the stock rear sets, now that I switched to Rizoma pegs. Can't wait to test it out on the track!

After having trouble with two sets of rearsets (gilles and ducabike), this would be the only option I'd consider if I was doing it all over again. Way less expensive than aftermarket with none of the problems (like being stuck in 5th gear at the track having to ride home to SF due to a seized linkage that was designed by a pea brain.
