guys I know this is off topic but I need your advice. somebody wants to offer me $1200 for my kimber 1199 custom 2 .45 acp. I bought this for $1500 and this is my first gun ever. though it sits in my drawer and use it probably once a year, it keeps m mind safe just in case something happens. any opinions thanks hahahah

I say hell no. I'm sure you can get more if you wanted to. Especially with all this BS gun law crap going on.......

Is it a plain custom ii ? I think you might have some models mixed up. The plain custom ii is like an entry level kimber if I recall correctly. It only goes for like 700 or something. So 1200 would be a great deal.

Kimber makes decent handguns but not really in the collectible range so I doubt it will go up in value.

I'm gonna go see the guy today and I'm sticking with 1200 anything lower then I'll just keep it. it's a kimber 1911 cdp custom ii

sell it and buy a SIG!

That's probably the one piece of advice I wouldn't heed. Generally almost everyone will consider a kimber 1911 > sig 1911.

Now if you are recommending a different sig - then you have other issues. Most of the better sigs ( elite 226/220 etc ) are not legal in California.

Kimber and sig are two different markets. Sig makes an excellent production gun. Kimber makes a close to the top of the line semi custom 1911. You can customize the grip, sights, magwell, barrel, safeties etc on the gun you want. Not so much with Sig. There are a few semi-custom makers even greater than kimber (Wilson, ed brown, nighthawk) and a bunch of pure custom guys but that's another discussion.

Anyhow between kimber and sig - better to have both but I definitely wouldn't choose sig over the kimber. But if you are using it once a year and don't need/want it for personal protection I would get funds for it.

went to see the guy this morning, her offered $1000. so I guess it's a keeper

Keep everything. Don't sell!!! 1) Its you first gun. 2) With all these executive orders floating around intending to destroy the Constitution, and a tyrant behind the throne I dont plan on selling anything, as a matter of fact I have been buying ALOT more. 3) If you sell it and something happens you will wish you had it.

sorry I forgot the lounge and if u can show me how to move or delete this thread I'd be happy to
