Leaving your bike with someone else already puts you into the

".... is going to happen category".. especially if there is a large amount of people traffic as you stated.

I would also say, leaving the key there is mistake number #2... as long as you are cool with the beauty marks, just consider it a lesson learned..

surprising the mirror didn't snap off. wonder if the bike fell at the dealer and you didn't notice it ?

It's looks like another bike fell into the Duc.. See if the GSXR or any bike Parked close by has any scuffs that could match up to the Duc.

Just a thought.. The reason I say this that if the steering was locked the scuffs would likey be more to the left of the bar end if looking straight at it. Also the fact your mirror didn't come off points me to believe another bike fell into it.

It looks almost identical to the damage I caused to the demo bike I took out when testing the 1299 when it fell over in a car park when it stalled (how embarrassed was I?). £200 to fix it. Paint fairing and clutch cover replacement bar end and brake lever (from dealer stock). Not worth worrying about really.

.......

It is easy to say .... like that when it isn't YOUR bike. I would be mad as .... if I was him.

.

Its easy to say because I park my bike in MY garage.

I don't leave it at party dad's house, with freedom to move my bike around.

It fell over. Denial is one of the worst human traits we have. All the visual evidence points to it. It was a tip over with a 98% save, prob hurt his leg catching it, but it hit the ground ever so slightly. And yes the steering was unlocked. The brake lever has damage, impossible if the steering was locked, it would protect it.

He is too proud to admit it. Just don't bring it up, fix it and let it go. There is ZERO point pointing blame. I learned years ago that time can't be unwound and whats done is done. Relationship is more important than 400 bucks in parts.

NOLA

I thought in his old age, since his ... is flatening, he'd easily be able to maneuver the bike with flat feet...apparently I was wrong. Time for a race seat...that should assure he has the proper crotch clearance to touch the ground!

As for why the bikes are at his place...that's simple. I rebuilt my house and closed off the garage in order to obtain a 4th bedroom. Mind you I'm 30 with no children...lol.

The race seat is higher.
