Not really, there was a smiley at the end.
To be honest it wasn't that bad. Last weekend I did the filter, O-rings, new crush washer and oil. Having done it once it will be a piece of cake next time. The first time it's scary though. Scary removing that little cover and scary removing the old filter since I didn't quite get the instructions that somebody posted until I looked at the new filter and realized that rubber end bit pushes in and you can grab it with the end of a screwdriver or pliers.
This is what I did to remove the old filter in case it helps anybody.
On the end that points toward the cover (not the end you insert into the block) there is a black rubber circle in the middle about the size of a dime. If you push on it with your finger it is spring loaded and will push in. What I finally figured out was that I could take a flathead or a plastic pick or something and push that in and hook under the lip and draw it back out of the block and then pull it out with my fingers. I was too scared to shove anything between the filter and the block and try to pry it for fear of scratching up the inside of the engine or, heaven forbid, the sealing surface where those O-rings mate to the aluminium. What I ended up doing was pressing against the black circle until it pushed in with a screwdriver and then letting the blade get pinched by the circle/spring and then pull towards me.
