Hi guys, take a look at your oil pans

Unfortunately, the oil pan is directly in the direction of flight from the rockfall from the front wheel...

There was one Bike which was hit very hard and got a hole in it. Certainly an isolated case, but the other pictures definitely show some impacts.
But there are already suggestions for solutions

Yep, mine looks exactly like that after about 4000 miles. The paint on the clutch side engine casing was quite damaged as well. Why the heck are all magnesium parts painted?! If it was left in its natural color it would have taken the abuse much better.

Now I know what I’m doing this weekend! What a great, super simple solution!
Thanks for the idea!

I made one out of stainless a few weeks ago and it doesn't look too bad bolted on, at least there is protection now using the existing bolts/ho without any modifications to the bike.

I don't have any dimensions, i just got some paper and bent up a template and pressed the paper against the 2 bolt heads to make an impression then just re made the stainless from the template, no measurements.

Don't know if I'd do carbon, that isn't an ideal material to protect from multiple impacts. I fabbed one out of textured & polished 3mm thick stainless (scrap material but still looks decent), with an extra fold under to protect the bottom a bit like the attachments above. Once I test mount to verify dimensions I can pass them on; the basics I worked from are: 6mm mount holes on 54mm centers, which are 15mm from the flat vertical plane (that's your 90 degree turn down), the vertical is roughly 30mm then you can turn as much horizontal as you want under the bottom. I made mine 60mm OAW so there isn't a ton hanging off the sides and just slotted in for the mounts. If I like it I am going to make a narrower, curved section for the leading edge of the filter housing as it gets some abuse as well.
A smart manufacturer (Ahem... Evotech) would add something like this to their other protection offerings

in a particularly hard riding session , at full lean (RH) the bike hit a dip in the road , and scraped the pipe , and the side of that sump section.

Since installed heavier front springs and no further issues.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, did anyone have any accurate measurements of the entire guard?

Looking to get one made before my bike turns up in the coming weeks.

Skidrumrs hole dims above are accurate. Thanks Skidrumr! Use those.

I went to HD and bought a piece of aluminum flashing for $2 to make a mock up on the bends. You can cut and bend it by hand to your liking and take the measurements. I made mine go to the end of the sump but not far enough to interfere with removing the drain plug. Then extended it about 0.25in off each side. I took the Al mock up to a friend who bent it and cut it out of SS plate.

If that sounds like what you want I can measure mine later tonight.

I ended up moving to the DesmoWorld piece for the long term- it's pricey but well made, and it has an angled face to to effectively slide any obstruction past the sump. The folded metal guards are going to minimize the debris chips and probably eliminate cracking from that, but if you smack it hard enough you may still damage the case.
I also ordered the TrofeoDesigns oil filter cover to replace the OEM, the factory one is .... engineering and is way too difficult to remove effectively.. my first thought was to tap the OEM through holes up to about an 8mm so I could use brass-tipped jacking screws to evenly press it off. But the Trofeo unit has a removable pin to grab which is arguably quicker and more refined. The new issue will be machining reliefs in the underside of the DesmoWorld guard so it clears the Trofeo pin loops, but when all said and done it will be pretty slick and much more attractive to see and service.

Brilliant!

Thanks for that.

Going to make one of my own now. Even if it is just a temporary fix until Evotech etc release one.
