This post is for the people that have a 2012 1199 and do not have the oil viewer. I know this isnt a big deal to a lot of people but to me it was all principle on how this could be over looked on a bike like this ment for the track.
So today I had the oil viewer fairing installed. The reason was my lower fairing was melting and it was replaced as a warranty item. The dealer tried to give me a new version of the same fairing (i guess they have a lot of those left). I wouldnt accept it again out of principle. Called Ducati NA had a discussion and got the new fairing with the viewer.

2012 fairing part number 48013354a
2013 with oil viewer 48013354aa

hope this works out for everyone that wants it.

Thanks for this. I plan to get mine replaced when I return home to Spain in 7 weeks.

What size bit, and how did you dress the edges after you drilled the hole?

Any size drill bit to tart with then I used a cone type bit which I think is 10 to 30mm there was no dressing of edges required just a red touch up paint
