This Saturday I leave on a nine day, 4000 mile ride with a friend to the Smoky Mountains - on the BMW of course!

Would love to come your way. Last year we did Southern Colorado and Utah.

Do it and come see us at DITR (Ducatis in the Rockies) the weekend of August 8 through 10 in Ouray, CO.

44 and have a long way to go it seems to become the oldest...but I'm up for the challenge.

Hoping to acquire a track bike this summer to push my skills up a level or three so I can ride this 1199r properly (ie. fast and hard). My thought is that I will keep the 1199r on the road for 4 years and then swap it to the track and get a new Duc ????r at that point.

Seeing all you guys (and the ages) on here makes that seem more reality than idle thought now. I really thought, having had a harley for 13 years, I would be a minority in the aged category for these bikes. Since the thread a month ago that digressed to ages I've done some reasearch and now realize the the high end Moto market is being dominated by the +40 years old crowd due to economic factors. And it is one of the only fast growing market segments to boot. This forum certainly demonstrates that fact.

Thanks all for being an inspiration!!

Zaster....tell me more about the Ducati in the Rockies weekend.

It's the first I heard of it.

We meet with fellow Ducati riders and friends regardless of what they ride every year in Ouray, CO to spend time enjoying the mountain roads during the second weekend in August. Search DITR for the latest updates or PM me.

48 and own an "S"....dont feel my age though...as I ride faster than most guys younger than me...haha... had lots of track time experience for many years...even won a local SBK national championship in 2003 and 2008. :D

Always ask for the "senior discount" (even at the Ducati dealer). Sometimes it works.
