conngrats....i know the feeling you're talking about!

i see you have the comfort seat and im curious.....how much higher does it sit than the standard seat? i think the ergos are very good on the bike but i worry if my butt were raised up an inch or so that it would really make a big difference in how much weight goes on the wrists. so when you made the switch was the difference noticeable?

Today was my first ride with it. I didn't notice any more weight on my wrists. However I'm 6'3". I'd say it might sit 1/4"-1/2" higher now. It's definitely more comfortable now.

I hit a hawk this evening. I was LUCKY! My armor in my gloves made impact. There was no damage to the bike (Thank God) I thought for sure when I pulled over I was going to have bad news. When I hit him I saw him hit the grass and roll. No, I didn't go back. My heart was beating something crazy.

The bike has not smoked since my initial ride. My first ride was 160 miles. I constantly varied the RPM's. Primarily between 3K to 6K. Keep load on the bike, and DON'T let it lug.

i had a buzzard glance off my shoulder as i was hauling ass up hwy. 60 above suches one morning and it scared the crap outta me.
mine only smoked twice. both times were after i got it home. cold start at the dealer did not smoke which i took as a good sign. on the next two hot starts after sitting for short periods of time i got maybe 2-3 seconds of very light blue smoke. after the first 150 miles no more smoke. spent the first 200 miles doing lots of full throttle/ decel in third gear between 4500 and 7k with the occasional burst up to 9k or so. to me this motor seems to be very unhappy below 3500k so i try to keep it spinning above that if at all possible.
my azz cheeks were pretty tender yesterday after i did the first 200 but when i went out this afternoon they actually felt pretty good. i believe i may be able to get toughened up to the stock seat in a few more days. im gonna try before i spring for the comfort seat.

I start vacation next Sun. I hope to have one by then ! I ordered Base w/o ABS. But , now , I don't care if it has ABS or not , I just want one ! Halfway considering jumping on an S if one turns up available ! Frikkin ready to ride !

I highly recommend ABS, it is and could be a life saver for you. I will never be buying another bike without it after I had it on a 2007 BMW.
