Ordering a Termi or Akra

I'll check the electric diagrams for the 1199 tomorrow, but I guess it will also have feedback from the flapper valve servo and it will throw and log an error code.

Okay so when I rip the servo out of my new 15R but keep the stock system I need to have the boys at Ducati update it so it removes the codes that will come up? Or does the 15R already come with an upmap loaded because it's a different exhaust system, anyone?

if it's the same as the 1299 then you'll notice no difference. When dealer logs in he'll notice an error code logged on his software, he'll see you've removed the servo and clear the fault.

If anyone is looking at the full Akra system for the 1299 then strongly consider buying the 1199 Evo system (physically identical) and fitting Tuneboy. Wayne has recreated the 1299 DP UPMAP as a file you can load, you'll also get a load of other goodies with his software, it'll be cheaper too.

My dealer charged my 1 hour labor to load the map to my Diavel. Probably took them 10 minutes.

That's disgraceful. It probably takes 10 minutes by the time you've hooked the bike up and connected to the software. The flash itself for the UPMAP (1199 anyway) took seconds. A full ECU reflash with Tuneboy is under 5 minutes. My dealer charges 15 minutes for any Ducati ECU stuff. I'd ask for a refund!

If you remove the servo for the flapper valve without the proper map loaded, a code will be thrown. No check engine light, but an error code is logged. The servo has a feedback potentiometer, if the ECU orders the servo to rotate and there is no proper feedback, an error code is generated and logged. Don't know if the ECU takes further action when the error is detected.

I know this for sure, I installed the Full Akra Evo System in my 1299S and had to take the bike to the dealer to load, or rather unlock the proper map with the UP-MAP. The servo error code was there.

I Ride my1299 now for 1,000 mls with disconnected servo and full Akra Evo system from my previous 1199. No error Code in the dash. At 600 mls service Dealer said it's OK to ride it like this, only an error code is stored in the error memory, but this has no influence. By the way, bike runs perfect with OEM Mapping and full Akra...maybe a bit leaner, but as the OEM Mappings seem to be quite rich, maybe even better...

From the wiring diagrams I can confirm that the 1199 does have feedback from the flapper servo. Removing the servo will throw and log an error code. If the code is cleared, it will appear the next time the engine is fired.

The error code will probably have no effect at all :)

So even though it throws an error, it will not trigger the CEL?

Well
the other point no one mentioned so far is the warranty.
As long as you use non Duc genuine parts or accessories the warranty isn't valid anymore
as all errors log stays in the bike ECU memory that's easy for them to prove this .

I'm not telling the AKRA is EVO is wrong or not fitting, nor the Tuneboy or Rexxer don't work as well. But in case of trouble the warranty might not work ??

What d'you think ?

I can't speak for other countries, but in the US that is not the case. They have to be able to prove the aftermarket part directly caused the failure. If you have an aftermarket exhaust, they can't deny a warranty claim on a leaking head gasket or blown clutch or ...... MC or broken Con-Rod, etc.
