I can't wait to see this"final edition" panigale. The teaser vid showed the wsbk/superleggera exhaust. Depending on pricing and overall aesthetics, I may trade my anniversario for it. The rest of you guys can have the v4 :p

First time seeing for me as well. Definitely looks like an SL exhaust. I wonder if they will do anything else besides cosmetics?

I will miss the L-Twin engine.. in the car industry everyone went to DCT and now many are giving customers the Manual opition.. hopefully Ducati can keep the L-Twin for non lap time people.. people that love Ducati because of its soul
Isn't 215hp enough? [emoji3]

They're really all parts bins bikes, even the "R" ......So??

What I really want is a 1299 "R" with the SL exhaust and engine. Yeah...I would trade in my bike for one of those!

I'm sure we will see the L-twins around for many years to come....

As far as 215HP being enough? Obviously it's not enough for SBK anymore!

That green and Italian flag section, is that the tail panels or the fuel tank?

There are some parts unique to the R not shared by other Panigales - in the engine, correct? Rear sprocket, too?

I was thinking it may be a little like the 2015 R was after the initial SL. Couple of the spendy bits to be different, but not all the carbon fiber etc.

I believe a lot trickled down from the 1199 SL. Not that's a really bad thing, mind you.

Panigale R final edition ?????

Maybe some last tweaks to get them over the hump maybe? I could see it going either direction. Either a total styling exercise like the Anniversario, or something track focused. "The end tells the story" is an interesting thing to say. Almost makes me think it will have a bit of a track focus. While we all know that the Panigale is seldom sold as a track bike to most owners. Ducati positions it as their track monster. And so far, it's the only one that hasn't won a title.

Okay, so here is what I know......

£32,000 (GBP)

The 1299 FE (final edition) will be akin to the Panigale R. In the same way as the Panigale R is a watered down 1199 SL, so the FE will be born of the 1299 SL. You can think of it as a 1299 R.

The engine is largely the same but with a few changes, such as you won't get aluminum piston liners in the FE. It will put out 209.4 bhp with 105 lb-ft (142 nm) of torque.

Chassis and geometry, again the same however, no carbon bodywork, no carbon wheels, no carbon frame and no carbon swing arm. Weight will be comparable to the SL with only a few kg in the balance.

Mechanical suspension, whoop!!

The all important WSBK exhaust too

These things will be numbered, although not limited but I would expect Desmo numbers......1500 ish

For me I'm in. The reason being I have the R which, if I decided to, would be traded in for the V4. However, I am still skeptical of the V4 as yet and as someone has previously said "never buy the first generation of anything". When that time comes, if the V4 is good, no one will then want my R other than the fans so it means the value will also drop. Basically I can pay in an extra £4k for this or lose as much when I sell mine...... apples, oranges

......... Deposit is down :D
