Sounds like you two are describing a similar bike to me.
Sounds like you two are describing a similar bike to me.
I'm hearing slightly different - cant name the source.
I'm hearing this will be in between R and SL but not actually R.
I live 10 mins away from Laguna Seca and I'm attending this year so I will take many photos.
a bike between a R and SL sounds like a perfect bike for me but in track trim.
Well as the bike in video has lights and will probably be sold for registration in Europe as well, I am guessing it will have the EURO4 system from the 1299SL with the big underbelly cats , and the full race version from 1299SL will be an expensive accessory
I am hoping that the engine internals will be a little like the engine parts transfer from the 1199SL to the Pani R. If the 1299FE only has a standard 1299engine, it will be a disappointment.
It's a watered down 1299 SL motor. Same light weight internals but with a few changes to put reliability up and cost down e.g. steel piston liners instead of aluminum.
So it will be a translation of the 1299 SL as the R (2015>) was to the 1199 SL.
I did put this earlier in the post 210 bhp, 105 lb-ft torque, 165 kg, WSBK exhaust - with Euro4 cats and £32,000
As much as I don't want to buy into the hype....... if this bike has the 1299 SL engine I'm in. God knows I must for the 1299SL but I ride my bikes a lot, i ditched my 1299 S for the R and didn't regret it one bit. If this bike is the similar treatment I'll get it and be happy with it. 210hp???? Hell yes
Lol no more V4 Kevin?
Quite amusing that Ducati has already started dumbing down their website, with the
existing Pani S and R now only making 197HP instead of the 205 they were both sold at
originally. Oh look, a sudden massive improvement - yours for x thousand pounds/dollars.
Also looks like the new one is a bit of a fat ....... too, carrying 1.5kg more than the
existing S and 6kg more than the R.
I'm sure this will all be corrected with new marketing though ;-)
I'm guessing the weight increase is due to the euro 4 exhaust. I'm very interested in the bike as it should be the ultimate Panigale and incredible having a lightweight fast spinning R 1299 engine but it looks like its going to need thousands spent on a damn exhaust to make it comparable to the existing R. Two steps forward, one backwards
From what I understand it will come with the exhaust and I believe this doesn't have to play by the euro 4 rules yet.
Europeans and their stupid laws.
