Thanks Kariznin,

Sounds like total BS to me! How would the Italians know about this, unless the importer (Frasers) told them to do this.

Can’t image the Italian engineers standing by while they drilled into a structural part, let alone the horrible aesthetics. They must laugh at us Aussies if this is true.

I thought these were put on in Australia, because of our ridiculous ADR’s

that's B.S.

I know when I got my 1098 in OZ, NF Imports fixes the compliance plate to it when it gets out of the crate for the first time.. then eventually it makes it's way over to the dealers..
Definitely not a factory thing.

Damn that sucks! They just put it the easiest place possible for them, without regard for the owner of the unit or aesthetics. They could've easily put it on the inside of the frame during the build which makes me think this is an afterthought because of regulations.

Yeah, I am also thinking this cannot be done at the factory.

He has replied now, he doesn't know anything about this.

I am thinking to mail directly to ducati and check with them.

If all guys on this forum that have bikes on order and if anyone knows anyone with a bike on order, if we all put pressure on then this can change surely.

Just checked my 1199 Panigale, it is on the head stock under some cables nad you hard,y notice it, so why not the Sam won the V4?

I have asked my sales executive to take this concern with ducati Australia and have requested him if we could hear something from ducati Australia or directly from ducati Italy.

@ducSyd: could you please ask the same with your sales executive as well, so if more owners are concerned about this issue they might do something in upcoming shipments.

I am already on it, but honestly my guy is pretty weak.

I have another contact inside Frasers that I will activate now.

My guess is that no one thought about this when they were coming in and they had to quickly find a solution

Yea ill give Frasers city store a call tomorrow. Cause that is just ridiculous. No other sport bike has the compliance plate in plane view or attached to the frame like that. They should know better. Every bike i have owned has had the compliance plate located near the front forks tucked away near the dash.
Plus i dont want people to know my VIN number in such a plain view.

ahh cool.. good luck man. keep us posted!

What happened with the 1299SL owners and the stupid plate?
Any Ozzie owners care to share where their plate is? I hope they didn't drill into the carbon airbox frame

Yep, thats exactly what they did. Thought the bike felt a bit heavier when going through right handers. lol

Hey @jamyca54
You had a word with someone in Fraser's city today?

So just called Frasers. They said that it comes from factory like that unfortunately. Apparently there is no room near the head bearings because of the new air intake.
Also other countries dont have the same compliance laws that we have so unfortunately we just have to go along with it.
Im sure the bike will make up for this though.
Also carbon frame guards are coming out for them so you can cover them up like that

Damn. Luckily I am not in Aus. That would be a no deal for sure .
Absolutely horrible and stupid !
Way to ruin a Ducati.

Hi Guys

My sales executive has taken my concern forward to ducati Australia and here's the response below that I have received from them this arvo.

Seems nothing can be done for this plate, I believe they were not able to find a better place to fit this.

Kariznin,

Is there a name or contact to this letter? I want to contact them direct.

Looking at the frame I can't see why can't it be put vertical up closer to the headstock?

Apart from the horrible looks, cna you imagine getting your leathers hooked on this when on the track?

I received it from [email protected].

And yes, I also agree this plate could definitely hook with the leathers.

Don't know who suggested to put this plate on this place and that too ducati engineers agreed for this placement.

Has anyone actually contacted italy to verify this.. ?

I mean.. Ducati Australia aka. NF Imports = Frasers Motorcycles.

I was about to to that, I also thought the same way.

Just wondering if it would create any conflicts with Fraser guys?
