Can someone chime in on this. Whats the difference, is the increased price worth it? I plan to replace the stock filter once I get the rapidbike evo (or race module).

2nd question so I dont create another post, is the race module worth it over the evo? The bikes mainly for street but rapidbike usa said the ignition mapping alone and more control is worth it. I dont mind paying a bit more since its not much more than the evo. Maybe someone knows more about the extra features and can help.

I have the RB race module, P16 carbon and the full termi…

The bike is super smooth below 4000rpm now.. no jerkiness or jolting…

I had an MWR "race" filter and that was good, but nowhere near as close to the P16

For the street the P08 is more than enough…

Hopefully LJuice will chime in , he is sponsored by RB USA (Cycle Pro) and can go more in depth…

Hey bro. The first answer is the P08 has a different mesh that's designed for street use. The P16 is for track only, but many here use it for the street. The R127SBK, if that's the one you are referring to has a carbon fiber frame and has a 210% increase in surface area for additional air to pass into the air box. That means more power. The increase in price is justified IMO.

As for the Eco vs race version of rapidbike. First, if Yaman suggested the race, I would defer to him. Both are great products and give great flexibility. I always buy the top of the line .... because I hate coming back after the fact and wish I would have bought the higher model. I also knew I was going to track the bike eventually, so that was my reasoning for buying the race version. You can't go wrong either way. The race version has pit lane limiter, initiation timing and the ability to have multiple maps. If none of that interests you, go for the Evo. The ignition mapping does give more adjustability, which in turn gives you a better mapped bike.

Albert,
Does the P08 smooth out things as well like the p16?

For sure it will
I've heard nothing but praise from others speaking about the P08
compared to other filters ...

I just went overboard maybe in getting my P16
because I am using it on the street ... Even my dedicated track bike only has a BMC....

You will be in good hands with the P08

Can't go wrong with either. I installed the 08 on my base and I thought the fueling down low improved. As in it actually got smoother. Could be just in my head tho. There is a pretty nice growl that you can now hear from the air box as well.

I'd say right next to the throttle spacer mod this is the next must have and best bang for your buck.

I've got P08. It will be installed in dyno, so first a couple runs with OEM and then P08. Bike is equipped with full Akra and map. The dynoshop has Rexxer, so fueling will be sorted if there is need to.

It is interesting to see what happens. I am very pleased with that Akra mapping overall. I think it is almost perfect despite a little too much push in full lean initial throttle opening, usually symptom of being too lean mixture.

So maybe in February I'll report dyno results. Now it is -10 degrees Celcius, hopefully soon snow and winter motocross. Panigale hits the road in April again.

So does the ignition timing map ability with the race version really give a much better tune? If so than that is totally worth it.

Also wouldnt it make sense to have the 210% increased air carbon fiber p16 version to give rapidbike an even better tune since it'll give even more air for a nice tune.

There is a reason why the recommend the P08 for street use versus the P16 carbon. You need more filtering for the street. IF you have the coin, by all means rapidbike race and P16. Thats what I'm using on my race bike this year.

Damn I forgot all about the filtering properties that are required on dirty/dusty streets. I guess I'll stick to the street P08 version for that purpose. Thanks.
