Palomar Mountain

I remember Rick and he was actively there every weekend when I lived down there.

Oh you're far north near Fallbrook then so that makes sense. To accommodate most folks in SD the Via Rancho Parkway was central but sometimes we would ride up from Telegraph Canyon area in Chula go through Barrett Junction-Campo-over I8 through Sunrise. That's a nice route too.

Ride safe down there.

I am just one exit North of Escondido, right in the middle of everything over here. Nice having Palomar so close (20-25 miles).

We need to make a trip over to Sunrise, soon.

Rubber Side Down!

We rode Palomar again yesterday (6 full passes). We were essentially the only motorcycles on the mountain except a Sporty and a ZX6.

There were a lot of Bicyclists on the mountain yesterday. We had to go around several of them 2 abreast riding at a walking pace up the mountain on numerous occasions. The last time down on the way home we actually had 4 different Bicyclists in the middle of the road trying to coast down at speed.

I was having a hard time getting off the bike since putting the Race Seat on. I love the race seat but it was catching on the back of my thigh while hanging off the bike. Before the ride I raised the pegs on the DP Rearset. When we first took off on the ride they felt too high, but I decided to do the full ride to try them at the higher position.

The first pass up the mountain felt rough as I was having to adjust my body once hanging off in the corners. By the second pass my body was falling into position better then ever! By the 5th and 6th pass I was running faster and smoother then ever before on the mountain. Wow, what an amazing ride it turned out to be. I am very happy now with the position and the bike feels unreal, like an extension of myself!!

We are taking off for the days ride today in just a few. The plan for today is a ride over to Moto-Forza to view the new bike debut of the 1299, Multi and Scrambler. Then we will ride out to Borrego for a few passes up and down Montezuma Grade.

The planned route today is what we call the short run. We take the short run out to Borrego and then the long way back through Banner.

Escondido 78 to Ramona
Ramona to Santa Ysabel
Santa Ysabel to Borrego
Borrego 6 runs
Borrego to Banner
Banner to Julian
Julian to Ramona
78 to Escondido/San Marcos

I moved back down to SD b/c of a new job and been wanting to ride Pally again. I've been talking to James at MF about the Husky 701. My Pani has been converted to track.
