No trolling intended...genuine question. What is the objective with a TFT display? In sunlight it's less easy to read versus analog or LCD (like Kindle v iPad). I'm not saying it is illegible, just less easy to read in certain light. It displays the same information which is available on most other bikes. The customization of info is available on other bikes like it is on the Pani. So why do something which is less than optimal? Because they can or because it's an improvement?
I get that it is different but is it better? Don't get me wrong, I love tech and am at the bleeding edge of it everywhere else in my life but I am not seeing a reason to go to TFT on a bike. If you could switch to GPS or an app or suchlike on the same display, great, but otherwise it isn't as practical or as reliable as analog and LCD. Apart from it being cool, is there any other reason why Ducati are going down this road? It seems to be the root of a few problems with the bike where other arrangements might be less problematic.
Thoughts?
