Panigale Decompressor

After almost two years of trying to find out from any available images how this decompressor actually works, I did open the vertical cylinder cover to see it myself.

Thought this would enhance clarity.

Pretty interesting. Centrifugal! What helps a bike to bend into corner also helps to disable the decompressor in engine !

Exactly same principle as the Panigale decompressor mechanism.

Didn't know that this was used before already by KTM in 2008.

The lever has the double size of course

Honda has had a variation of this since 2002 in their CRF450R motocrosser. Kicking over a 13:1 450 is not fun without it.
