And I am at the dealer now, and it is indeed just an excess amount of lube from the chain post service! They are cleaning it up now.
Thanks all for the advice, And Konrads, I really hope you get yours sorted!

if you know any details on how they cleaned it please let me know.. i actually have the same issue but it's burnt into the exhaust more than yours.. i want to clean it but i'm afraid of using anything harsh, i do not want to scratch the aluminum. so far i only used extreme simple green motorsports cleaner on a cloth towel to try and dissolve as much of it as possible.

On my '12, the cans were stained for life, never managed to get it all out.

Late last year I ran out of the expensive and supposedly "no fling" chain lube and grabbed a can of the stuff we use for corn planters. It's a dry chain lube with molybdenum. Dries up instantly, stays on forever and costs next to nothing. Only downside is that is gray, the gold anodized chain you just bought will end up looking like the OEM crap.

Not sure what they used, but it did take 1.5hrs! Gecko made some suggestions earlier on in the thread, maybe try that?
Think I will also use dry lube next time. Don't want this happening again.

I use Motul clear chain lube, it gives very minor fling, also for cleaning my chain I use kerosene, and an old rag, kerosene won't .... up the rubber O rings on your chain. I found that Kerosene also gets any minor fling off the rear wheel and exhaust as well. I also found that if I soak an old rag with Kerosene and hold it across my face and breath heavy I get this really cool high.......
