I also have. It makes a lot of difference and is good fun to install. As 2012 says above, just take your time. Don't do it on a hot day, as it seems to make the adhesive set quicker.

The other (minor) issues I have with it is that you have to be careful when you wash the bike, as it is easy to pull up some of the edges. Wax can also highlight the edges (you just have to remove the residual wax carefully with a micro-fibre cloth after waxing).

Plus, I keep spotting some tiny bubbles that I missed during the install. Very powerful lighting is recommended to minimise this.

I just did my tank and headlights with the " Tankslapper " 3M kit last night. I don't know if I would want to cover my whole bike with it , ( would be a huge pain in the ass ) but the seven pieces that I put on look great . Took me 2 and a 1/2 hours to finish. Other than the edges , you can't really even see that it is on there. One sugestion though , don't use a piece of soft velcro over the edge of your sqeegee (sp ). The ONLY trash that got caught under the film , was a couple of small hairs from the velcro. nothing really noticable , and not worth doing over. Mix both a baby shampoo , and an alcohol solution as directed. Makes it easier if you have both. Take your time , and it'll come out nice.

do ou have any pictures of the final install? You covered your whole tank, must have been hard with the contoured edges.

I think I am looking at doing the whole bike the next time around, living up in Canada my RSV4 takes a .... kicking from bugs an small rock chips on both the tank and nose,,,, being gloss black doesn't help either though.

The best thing I use for cleaning is either plexus or my fave, lemon pledge haha. works great and is cheap, leaves a slight oil finish which helps take any bugs off.

Hi Retics
The kit I had has tank parts for the central and two main lateral sections. It's not that tricky - you just have to be very patient and keep working the squeegee and respraying with the various solutions (slip or baby shampoo).

I'll see if I can take some pics this w/end.

No pics for me , sorry. The only camera I have is my iphone , and I can't seem to get those pics to work here. I already bought a big 13oz can of Plexus off of Amazon for $20.00 shipped. So gonna clean the bike up good this weekend and Plexus the hell outta it.

1st track experIence...

1700+ miles of hard back roads riding and ready to do first track day...i hope they have tire support this weekend, i probably have only a 20 min session left on them tires ;~]

Be carefully when tiring the bike down via the throttle. Ducati NA advised the mechanic at my dealer to make sure the throttle is not aginst the stop (off or on) with too much pressure as this could damage the sensors in it.

Another reason you always tie down by the triple clamp.

I love the Reefton, used to go up through King Lake, do the Black Spur, Lake Mountain and down the Reefton to Warburton frequently when I lived in Melbourne. Now I have the Gold Coast Hinterland, Mount Mee and Mount Glorious to play on up here. Can't wait to get my Pani,

Before my custom fender eliminator and a few other mods, thanks to Nick Parker for the photo:

@ Efna Nice collection of CRs !! are those 450F's or 250 2 strokes? I've been riding dirt bikes for many years, only been riding street for 7 years. Always rode the Honda CR best dirt bike IMHO.

Since getting my licence I've been riding much less off road but still keep a CR and a Quad for the occasional blast. Sadly, in my opinion, Honda's street bikes aren't nearly as good as their dirtbikes and nowhere near Ducati, but for dirtbikes can't really beat them.

ANyway nice bikes!

Thanks, In order back to front they are:

CR125R - far back
CR250R - middle
CRF450R - front
XR80 - pitbike

The 450 is one hell of a machine. I knocked 3 seconds off my lap time the first day out on that bike.
