Panigale V2! DDA+GPS!!

So, long story short :) in order to physically mount the GPS and plug the DDA key, this is something we can easily do by ourselves, right? However, if we want to use its full functionality like the GPS, then the only and unique option would be to carry the bike to the closest Ducati dealer and they can only do that?

If you can please confirm the above.

I do have a V4S.

thanks

Exactly!
You can install the DDA and GPS youself and the DDA does record including the GPS signal. However, without going to the dealer, you can’t use the GPS signal for the laptimer on the dash.

It takes 5 minutes for them to enable it. Really a drive-by job on a sunny Tuesday afternoon.

Just installed the dda and gps earlier.
It's a clean setup for the V2 in the glove compartment. Datalogger mounts using the passenger strap location. GPS mounts right on top. Under the tail is a four pin connector. After the install all I did was activate DDA and the lap timer in the settings menu. Voila! Mon rouge chaton is now visible to all the satellites in orbit.
Software is super easy to use. Plug in the DDA and the app fires automatically. It's a nice and tidy setup that's easy to use. Though I will say this, I wasn't sure if I did the install correctly at first because I couldn't make the map/location icon appear on the dash...it doesn't have one!
As soon as the DDA is enabled it starts recording when the lap timer starts.
Gives you all data. Throttle %, speed, gear, distance, braking, location, torque, lean angle, altitude, winning lottery numbers....not really, not the lotto.

Hi Chris,
How did you activate the GPS after installing it?

Hi Chris,
How did you activate the GPS after installing it?
I did nothing on the V2 I can remember to activate the GPS. I was looking and looking for something in the settings menu and online, but no reference. The V4 has a map "pin" icon on the dash but the V2 does not. To see if it was working i took the bike out to get a satellite view then plugged the DDA+ into the laptop and i had GPS data. Seems like it is active from install. The DDA has to be turned on manually in settings to record telemetry. Other than that its Plug n play.

The V2 DOES have the pin icon when the dealer activate it. Otherwise the GPS only record in the DDA and not on the dash.

Hello guys, quick question, how to overlay The data to GoPro video ? Is it possible ?

DiY build it? Since it’s not yet shareware for newest ECU’s, especially V4.

May be Panigale V2 has same DDA file structure as previous V2’s upto 1299. Then online shared DiY converters for Panigale 1x99 might work for current Pani V2’s as well?
DiY Trial & error, since Ducati still refuses to add dda2csv export function to our DDA Analyzer software.

Read all about my journey to get my V4.dda data in my GoPro track recordings (incl. YouTube upload to proof it):
DDA+ and GPS

And join up ‘in masses’ begging Bologna to finally approve this DDA export function:

… The software is not 2D or AIM alike...

@highoctane299 refer to picture @Pippen posted here. Looking at selected channels in DDA analyzer for @Pippen his new PV2, the presented PiDs in his DDA fileset are somewhat different from the 1199.dda set (e.g. Lean angle). This means the dda file structure is somewhat different too.

So I guess you are out of luck using existings shared 1199 dda2csv converters for PV2. This means if you use one of the 1199 dda2csv DiY build converters to convert your new PV2.dda file the PiD channels get mixed up in wrong order (if at all).

If you then try to import such ill-converted PV2.dda as PV2.csv file into e.g. RaceRender on top of your track movie, the dda telemetry data gets populated in the wrong data channels not making any sense. Refer to a picture in thread of DDA+ File gesucht, da ich einen DDA+ zu CSV converter schreibe how this data mess looks like.

Here I also compared V4 PiD channels in dda file sets with previous 1199cc ‘PV2’ Panigale for you to easily spot the differences with the new PV2 as well:

Sorry to hijack this thread but I got my dda + gps module from the dealer today and it looks like the dda plug is completely different - it seems to be a 4 pin one - where can I get an adapter or did my dealer got me wrong one?

Or is there indeed a 4 pin connector hidden somewhere on the V2?

My diagnostic port looks like the attached

Please correct me if I am suppose to find the 4 pin connector somewhere else

Looks like I will need part number 5101F571A
It’s really messed up that the dealer did not advice me that I will need this when I specifically ordered the dda + gps for V2

That is the EU 5 style 6-pin diagnostic port. There isn't a 4-pin elsewhere. The person who sold you the DDA was likely unaware there was a change. Ducati kind of snuck the 6-pin in. My 2020 Streetfighter had the 4-pin, but my 2021 Panigale had the 6-pin despite it being a EU 4 bike.

You are right - it just sucks because I waited a solid 4 months for the dda + gps module and now who knows how long it will be to get the adapter cable
