Has anyone who's racing or doing track day on the V2 panigale (955) tried a 200 section rear tyre? On a 6.0in rim as opposed to the 190 on the 5.5 rim notice much difference in turning on the larger tyre.

Bruce I raced my 959 on 180s before the 190s came out, and always kept the 5.5 rear. Are you asking because you have 6" SSSA rear wheels and no 5.5s to put on? I also assume you are talking Pirelli?

If it was me again I would stick to 5.5 rear w/ 190, not just because of the width but also the height - 200/65 would get a little more tricky setup/geometry wise

I borrowed a guy one spare 6" rim from my V4 and he fitted a 200 Bridgestone slick and it went well on the V2.

I have both rear wheels i Can use the ones from my V4 and I have the 5.5 rear the bike came with, i was thinking about buying a spare 5.5 as i agree it would make setup easier

No input on the 6", but I have also been running 190/60 Pirelli's on may '21 V2 without issue.

Don't have enough experience to identify the benefit over the stock 180. But still smooth transition in and holds the lean and curve well.

I'd stick with 5.5" on the V2. The factory 5.5" is good enough for MotoA guys and WSS guys to break lap records, so it's probably good for most track day folks. I mean, do what's fun, or I guess you're saying, convenient, and if it makes sense to have two sets, swap it up. But I doubt you'll run out of grip with a true track tire (180-190) on the 5.5" wheel. But yes, it will be less agile and feel a bit more "clunky" in corners. And it's bigger and heavier and will cost you some HP. And maybe calibration issues?

I run the MotoA Dunlop spec tires, which are 180/65 rear, and very tall, and relatively heavy. They changed the profile, shape and compounds last year, and it's much more like the Pirelli race tire. Though it's still a very still carcass. I'll post some track feedback when I get on it.

Calibration issues , could you elaborate a bit.
I’ve just purchased a set Marchesini rims off a V4.
Got a great deal.
And needed a spare set of rims for wets.

The rims are are a lil bigger I think.
And was thinking about running a 190/60 on the rear .

Calibration issues scare me 😳

Hi. There's a calibration mode. It's easy.

The rims are bigger for sure. I wouldn't run them, personally, but I think they fit. May be a weird fit-up for a 190 tire. They are designed for 200s. But if it's for rain tires, those will fit differently, and have different size and feeling, so it may not be as big of a deal. But you may need to run 200 rains.
