Hi guys,
I bought a Panigale V4R on July last year, one year before I was riding a Speciale then I sold it to my brother and went for the R.
The dry clutch works great especially during hard braking when the slipper system behaves much better than the one on the speciale but last week while I was riding I suddenly noticed that the rpm was going to idle every time I was closing the throttle, basically the rear wheel was not able to drag the engine anymore During decelerations while during accelerations everything was normal and no slipping of the clutch at all.
I took the bike to Ducati Service and they found that the mechanism of the slipper system was completely worn out needing components replacement, not only the disks.
My V4R has only 5600km total and I have driven the Speciale for 10500km without any issues, being a racing clutch the slipper system engages every time you release the throttle shifting down at high rpm, this wears the clutch so unless you just use the bike to do very soft rides expect the clutch to fail pretty soon.
I would suggest to consider this issue for those who want to upgrade their V4 to dry clutch.

lol I knew it, made my decision clear, I was going to got for the V4 SP but ill just got with normal V4S with wings... how much is it to replace those componets?

What else was worn out besides the disks? My plates were toast at 1200 miles and I replaced them with the ducabike plates.

my V4R is track only. My dry clutch went (exact same symptoms along with slipping during exit) at around 2500 miles.
replaced with the ducabike kit.
I’ll probably add a clutch clean and inspection every 3rd or 4th track day.

Mine had the exact same problem with similar kms . Fixed under warranty with a completely new assembly. I’ll likely need to replace the clutch plates on regular basis moving forward.

Just had to changed my wet clutch plates at 10k miles moderately beaten bike, few track days and lots of canyon rides.

Had to replace mine as well after one season of track riding
