I have been setting up my Panigale for non track riding and have added Termignoni slip-ons, carbon fiber, rear sets, slider, etc., and not the bike looks nice and trick. Everything is okay but because the Upmap is still installed (required for modified exhausts) , I must keep it on a charger while not in use. I am not sure if the up map device can be removed? I also raised the bar height ~ 3.5 inches with a riser kit I purchased, but I was disappointed that a wedge was required under the windshield faring to clear the break and clutch levers. I eventually modified the bleed stem to make it flush which now gives full motion of bars and allowed me to remove the stupid looking wedge. There is slight interference but not enough to damage or stress anything. This has made riding to and from canyons or other areas much more comfortable as I can now ride in an upright position. A mistake I made in my opinion is having the bike dyno tuned for maximum performance. When I got the bike back, it was faster, but it was very difficult to ride as the throttle response was very twitchy and difficult to control. Also, the up/down shifting was not smooth anymore and the bike had difficulty starting cold. I eventually had the original mapping reinstalled and now I am please with the performance and shifting. I will add that dyno tuning is very hard on the bike, especially running it full power while up shifting. (Watch some U tube videos on tuning this bike) When I got my bike back I need to change the rear tire and the chain was stretched!, so again this tuning comes at a cost of wear and tear for such a little power gain, and for the average rider who just enjoys a weekend outing, I would strongly not recommend this procedure. It took me around a 1,000-1,500 mile before I really got the full enjoyment of the Panigale and not complaining about the seat height and and bar position which I modified, but I can tell you that once you really get use to the bike, it becomes a beautiful machine and very intuitive. If anyone is interested in raising the bar height, let me know, I can give you instruction on how to do this.

lots to unpack here...but i feel you on the tuning part. When i got my 1299 fully un-restricted it was very very difficult to drive, as you say the throttle control was so touching and sensitive it felt impossible to drive.

I worked with my tuner (Frank with SLR in florida) and ended up getting about 4 different tunes each one about -10% sensitivity than the previous one and over the course of about 10K miles I have been able to slowly bump up the tunes towards fully un-restricted. With a lot of time and attention my throttle control has just gotten better and better. And i think yours will too partner.

Right now I am at one -10% reduction from full race tune and I love it. Ive tried the full race tune a couple times recently and i simply have to have DWC ON to keep the bike from ping-ponging in the first 3 gears...which is no problem at the track...but for my weekly King Squid wheelie rides i stick with the -10% from race tune.

Also, that much ware on your bike i question if they tied it down properly...you shouldnt have burned that much tire and chain ware...but who knows man...

good luck on your journey and welcome to the forum buddy!

After all this time since your advice, I just did and found the hard starting, draining battery all went away. Thanks, great advice!
